Speaker brackets

Try PVC Speaker Adapters - CNC Machined - In Stock or Custom Made. I went through them and purchased speaker brackets specifically made for the model year of my vehicle. Also, just to be on the safe side, order the spacers too. I ordered the 1/4" spacers for both front doors since the speakers I purchased were too big and it would hit the windows when rolled down. Just an FYI, if the spacers still aren't enough and you find that the magnets are still hitting the windows when rolled down, try using 1/4" foam tape to give it that extra space. That's what I did since the magnets were still hitting the windows. Hope this helps you out.
That sounds a great idea. Thanks. I will look into that.

Thanks for all your help guys:)

I got some mdf spacers that can be used to mount the speakers and provide enough space so the window can move freely! I have to drill new holes to attach the speaker brackets/spacers to the car metal door.

I am just gonna use a metal drill bit and make a hole. Then use screws to attach everything. As the screws are going through wood and metal can anybody see a problem with this. Is it better to use bolts?

Not my thread but thank you for this! It was going to be such a pain for me to make some speaker adapters for mine and was looking for alternatives.

I have got some awesome help from people on this forum. Especially as a beginner I havent got a clue. Even after researching I still couldnt figure out. I believe people should try and help themselves first and that is what I did. Despite my intial questions being a bit dumb.

You were one of the forum members that gave me **** when I first joined. I nearly left the forum. Fortunatly there were plenty of people that did advise and I am very thankfull. So please I dont want to argue but please be more helpful to new members on basic questions. We all need help at some stage!

Bump guys:

Does anybody know about making new holes on car doors for speaker brackets. I was going to drill through the bracket and metal door to make new holes and use screws but I wonder if bolts would be betteror overkill?!

Yeah we all started somewhere. Fortunately for you, the internet is here. For us old schoolers, we didn't have that option.
And I appreciate that. And also appreciate all your help very much. I have also had to learn things from scratch without guidance in other fields.

Screws is fine. Bolts would be overdoing it imo. I had to do the same with my doors. I made some baffles from 1/4" fiberboard for the mids because the window would hit the back of the magnet if rolled down.

I used the same holes that the speaker screws into the door panels. You could do the same. This way, you won't have to drill any extra holes...ruin your door panel. Got it?!?!

You came in asking for help and when you were given help that you found unsatisfactory, you had a nasty attitude and attacked

people trying to help. I responded in kind and your attitude kind of escalated from there. Hopefully we have moved on from that.

Self tapping screws usually get the job done. However, they are not the best when it comes to taking them out and putting them

back in. Usually that second or third time they won't get nice and tight anymore. You could also try a threaded insert. I haven't tried this personally but they look amazing. Something like this: Nutsert Kit Quite a bit of a cost if only going to be used a couple times but could be worth it if you think you will use it more in the future.

I am not a moron. Just asking advice from others that have been in this situation before I ruin my car door.Whats wrong with that?
Think he was referring to me.

Yet he talks about me shitting on other peoples' post.....call the kettle black.
