Soundqubed hds212.. ****

User error. Mine got pretty loud especially considering its an entry level sub. All of y'all killing them in a month are probably clipping the **** out of them. I had mine on 1200w from a vfl120.1 and it begged for more.

I agree. But still not impressed by their products. Their deadener was crap too
Lemme get this straight. You had the companies entry level subs, built a not so good box for them, sounded like crap, then go ahead and blame the company for bad products??

You really have no idea do you??

Cheap products are cheap? Who'd have guessed?
I could prob take a mainstream 12 and make it sound good in a well designed box and installed //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I realize i failed to respond to a whole bunch of questions. Yes it was my first box built myself. I followed the cf recommendation given to me by soundqubed after inquiring if my box from prev subs would do. Was 3.5 cf was told they work better in 4-5 cf so thats what i went for. I set gains with dmm then borrowed a dd1 and cc1 to set more correctly. No i dont have acess to an o scope and im not gonna get 1. I should have stated my opinion differently but this is my opinion of the subs. I reached out to sq and they blamed everything else but the subs. So i chose to vent

real talk, whats your box and port dimensions? in length x width x height for both box and port.

I have owned the Hdc3 15 & 18. Both peformed well and played down pretty good. I have never used the hds2's but i have head them in action. I seen some good numbers on the TL from them as well as seen some that were built for a daily that sounded good also for what they are also.

The hdc3s are not "low end" monsters but will play low if its built right. No it wont play down as well as others but it will get the job done. The hds2 is a entry level 100 dollar "Saturday Night Special" lol. If you want bass it will give you that, and actually have the ability to meter pretty well. Playing low will depend on the box. Build it and it will play, just dont compare it to other low end machines.

14.25x36x26 port 12.75x4x12.5 .75 mdf double baffled with threadall bracing front to back and side to side

That box is 5cubes tuned to 38hz with 10" port per cube. Yucky box of u ask me

You should have made the port 30" deep and that would make he box 4.17cubes tuned to 30hz with 12" port per

idk man i guess i'm the special case where my hdc3s play down to 19hz with authority...

only true if its actually a cheap woofer like a flea market sub. Its a proper entry level woofer but op put it in a poor alignment.

Before you do anything man, make the port a lot longer like double the length and make some 45 degree bracing that takes up a lot of the box space. You are tuned too high with too little port area compared to the size of the box. Its very anemic and you cannot claim its a proper box built to specs because the port area and tuning is completely off. Its nothing more than a pair of 12s in a leaky sealed box with your current port area, not really a proper ported.
