Like I designed a 2 dd 9918's box which are 2500w rms 4" vc and it was 10 cubes net so 5 per, it did a 154 and change iirc on the meter at 25-26 hz in a wall, it was on 2 less expensive very high power rated full bridge amps, one blew getting that score and took a voice coil out with it, I was told. But just to give you an idea of box space, this box was tuned to about 25 hz but 10 cubes for the pair of 18's in your class worked well for output, even at 25 hz. The score would've been better with better amps and electrical, imo:

So just saying you don't have to the biggest size, but if it does what you want that's what matters.

Yeah that amp and those 2 should match up very well, I would think.

From my experience with several 18's, I'm a guy that likes heavy lows, so if I had those I'd probably tune to 28-30 hz in probably 12 cubes. 32 hz maybe more people would find that better, so that's all up to whoever for your tastes, but 7 cubes per woofer seems a little big to me maybe regardless of tuning. I've had several 18 boxes in my daily before, and to me 7 cubes makes the bandwidth fall off too hard, even if the sub handles it fine or is rated a range like yours being 5-7 cubes. 6 cubes is about perfect IMO, but do what you want, it'll be loud as f either way if all else is also proper.
Hey my friend so I went ahead and pulled the trigger on the hdx4 18 dual 1 ohms. Couldn't pass up 449$ a piece. Yea i think i that 12cuft box will be at good size box for them. Cant wait till they get here lol...yea I like heavy lowes as well so def will take your advice on the tuning. Now do u think I still need two of those xs d3400 or do u think just one of them as an extra battery will be enough

I hope maybe some other people chime in more too but more electrical is always better imo, and just make sure you do the box and stuff correctly, enough port area, get a good design, you'll probably want to be in the higher end of port area like 16 in^2/cube being hdx418's, but I can only say so with limited accuracy without actually modeling it.

Yea I did a 21inch port in my old truck. Yes upgrading all the electrical def doing the big 3 under the hood and since those hdx4 are a little bit more powerful I will definitely stick with the original plan and go with 2 of the d3400. actually am getting one of my old buddies to draw up a design but I think im going with what you recommended with them firing up and the port firing up also now that im just going with just two. Do you think 3 hdx4 would be overkill

I would fire the port back probably if I had the space, with 2 18's you should have enough space I would think. Idk what overkill is lol you're asking the wrong person 😂. You ask me I say do a b pillar wall with as many subs as possible

Lol lol brother I love it i only asked because if they run another sale like that at Christmas for 449 for those I def want a 3rd lol on the soundqubed website they still have what little stock of the hdx4 let at 899 a piece for the 18"s...lol ok def will firing back then and u definitely would stick with the subs firing up

Yeah I think subs up is usually easiest, that's what I would do if I had it.

My advice is run a pair, HDX4-18s are no joke and 8K sounds about right for daily and demos. Its a 4" coil so expect to go big on the power. I will say again... 5.5ft3 ea /w/ 16-17in2^ft3 of port ea should be spot on in a shared chamber enclosure.

21in2^ft3? Or just 21in2?

Smaller airspace /w/ a low tune will kill some output generally but in a wall with enuff power? At the very least you'll have low end extension for days. Larger airspace can get peaky /w/ a hard rolloff under tuning in a ported enclosure like you said.

Also 2 questions would you strap 2 soundqubed 4500.1 since I already have 1 or would you just run a 4500.1 on each sub since they will be dual 1ohm. Also for highs and mids would you run a 3 way system or a 2 way I have my eyes on the focal flax evo Ps165fse 3 way. would run 2 sets for front and rear and use the focal 400.6 4 channel or the focal fdp 6.900 6 channel

I'm the wrong person to ask about highs and mids, I tend to specialize only in boxes really, maybe sub stage in general. I would run a 3 way though with heavy mid bass to balance out the sub stage meeting the mids. You should do a different thread on that.

I would run close to rms, maybe a little over but not too much. RMS is there for a reason, unless you're competing. Usually there's diminishing returns but idk this sub's well enough to say how much power they'd really need to "shine." Just if you're going to super overpower them it would be better to just do a bigger sub stage rated for it, IMO, just in general. If you're going to run amps, usually I'd say strap them. Not all amps strap quite the same but usually strapping helps eliminate differences between amps so sub see the exact same wattage and filtering from the amp.

Ok I think I will just stick with the 1 4500.1 like i said it isnt an spl build its just a daily driver for super low bass lol...

Subs arrived at the house will send pics this evening
Yes sir they finally got here they are crazy def more than what I expected quick question i have been doing some research and most are going to the lithium power cell LTO like the 35ah or 40ah and doing about 6 to 12 of them instead of the batteries because they are lighter and pack more power was wondering your thoughts on these
