lol. we talked a-bit and he said he tried adjusting them. its possible they have walked abit though. i dont really care for a subsonic filter its more issues than good IMO

yea those subsonic filters actually HELP widen the passband while limiting output in order to give you MORE lowend and protect the woofer.... i personally think its changes the sound of the alignment similar to a LPF.. not to metion its 4 18s. the mass from all the drivers in a single chamber help with the lowend. regardless jeff's systems looks to be very impressive..

yeah setup is playing overly low and flat for my liking, 19hz to 70hz. Peaking at 42 hz. Gonna try some stuff next week to reduce bandwidth and get a higher peak and and get a better score.

gonna just shove a 1 cubic feet sealed prefab in there and then throw another one and keep throwing more in and see the changes. Gonna have a meter to measure gains/losses

More port area causes the subs to act like its IB and lose all output.

ouch. that might change when you lower the vb. but ive always told people for YEARS there is such thing as too much port area.

I can always make the box 16 cubic feet net and unplug all the ports and have like a 55hz tuned burp box.

ever occur to you that that box is fked up as well? Might need to hire a proper box designer man. Give me the old box specs and i'll put that to the chopping block as well. I guess just because you say so means that no one else will get good results from using these cheap subs right?
10s playing 28hz with authority. OH look a box for 10s has the same port width as your box for two 12s. HOLY SH*T

Is it not possible that the subs just ****. Im gonna leave it at that. Im done asking for help or opinions. Chill man man no need to get upset. The point most are making is that the subs are not shit because they have been proven not to be. They are capable subs just the box needs to altered some. To me your box seems a bit low on the tuning for them. Also you port aero for a slot port is really on the small side. Rule of thumb for a slot port is usually 12"s at the least, up to 16"s where as using a round port/aeroport most look for 8"s - 12's. To me the size of your box is fine but tuning is low and your port area is low from the specs you gave of your box.

And Trust me, if you would have went with a "cardboard tube/sonotube" and came up with the same amount of port per cube and raise the tunning it would probably sound alot better. I have been using the sonotubes from lowes for the last 3 years and they work just fine. Im currently using one as well

Dd started that 12-16in^2 per cube ****. It's pretty much bullshit. Vent machine depends on box size tuning and the subs displacement capabilities.
