My role in this build is only a supporting one enclosure designing, knowing the quality and attention that will sweated into this before it is finalized I asked permission to be a fly on the wall and share.
This was done for an extremely talented fabricator, installer, gearhead etc... that happens to be a friend.
Someone who constantly hits it right outta the ballpark.

Sometimes I overbuild designing, when using premium materials I can revert to my instincts getting max performance from minimum materials. I should have stayed in school my engineer brother says.
I like it simple and effective.

In my locale blowthru's seem to be very popular, I've designed literally hundreds. The guy I designed this for happens to be a big reason for that. He has left installing for a shop as a job, started a new career and this is for his personal truck. I'd say no holds barred but we all have a monetary limit after all, so call it 10K invested... so far... haha. Most everything has arrived so it'll come together quick now.

13ply Baltic Birch throughout, single ply... it'll be A-OK. Premium materials allowed more airspace and a less complicated build. Lexan rear panel and some allthread to brace the sides.

I've been asked so many times "how loud will it be?". This one is going in a single cab /w/ steel plate on the rear cab wall, heavily deadened with tons of electrical on some "JP" amps. "How loud?"

"We'll see"...

Are those door panels in the background of the 4th pic??? If so what speakers does he plan to cram into the door?
I'll be adding to the thread with details and photos soon. idk what that is exactly myself in the background he has so many projects going on constantly... haha.

This fly on the wall can't wait to hear this one in person.

Signal source

I quote... "Got up early to do my iPad in the dash for my stereo with the Soundman Car Audio dash kit made it flawless install and was still able to retain my double din and a/c controls behind it"

I'm told he's getting all the plastics dyed next, the enclosure may be getting ready to go in soon.

I'm hearing tonight is the night for initial impressions as its going in there and will be Russian 13ply top and back until funds allow a one piece lexan 3/4" bent 1.5" or 2" radiused top/rear panel for the final result.

This'll be 2 or .5 ohm depending. On a Jp63... good times

10ft3 @ 26hz/ 12ft3 @ 52hz tuning /w/ 238in2 of port up front into a single cab heavily reinforced /w/ steel plate on the cabin rear wall etc... plus more more Russian to trim everything in.
This fly on the wall wants to hear this, I told him to take his time but...
10K+ into this he just wants to hear it...

Heat shrink and wire mgt takes effort, when I hear soon I hear tomorrow on something like this.
That said... we'll see

Yikes... it looks flat within bandwidth to me and that is a BIG bandwidth, loud on what I think that amp on his electrical can deliver. Stay tuned...

*Edit* Look at the predicted SPL and bandwith then read post #10

Update... I just got to hear this beast in person, lets just say its very impressive. Especially down low like he wanted. I expected a certain output across a wide bandwidth and it is either right there or very close.

2-15's only. The child was unharmed making this... haha.

Its nastier in person, especially down low. My son got his ears cleaned while I stood in the door grinnin' like the village idiot. This noob estimates at least +152db across the bandwith with a nice bump down low where he wanted it.

A little bird told me its 154.7db ish

Love the build. I have a blow through as well. Is it going though the back wall or back window? It looks like back wall but I don't get that windy down that low.

That's a crazy amount of hair movement being down low! Any pictures of the metal plate at the rear wall? I'm running Solo X's as well. How many watts are getting to these subs? You mentioned 2 or .5 ohm.
No pics of the rear wall, he's still needing to add a little bracing back there as it flexes a little over an inch where the double wall is.
The video is .5 power on a Jp63. I think he's going to put a terminal in there so it'll be 2ohm daily and .5 when he wants to tax those subs.
He wanted wind so I designed the enclosure accordingly. It's nasty down low.
