I had to delete a 6th I'd thought I'd share

Too many technical drawings apparently. This is the 4th time I haven't been able to share a design due to site limitations. Oh well I suppose

I like that one
It should be similar to this one but tuned slightly different allowing for lower power and smaller drivers. I estimate 150+ across bandwith peaking in that truck at about 42hz around 152db more or less. This one was stoopid low and loud. The only limiting factor was thermal due to the Kicker coils. It still did almost 155 tuned 26/52hz
My take is if you're going to throw power at something with abuse in mind 4" coils are a no brainer but you know those Kicker nuthuggers... haha. Throw 20K at a pair of SoloX is what the Kicker general public noob community says...... its superman after all!

I totally missed those were solo x's. Yeah I like them but yeah I've seen burnt solo x coils before haha. I tend to stick fairly close to rms, idk, like spend your money elsewhere and make it more balanced. I've seen the you know 8k on 2500w woofers bc they had a 4" vc, idk it's hard to criticize sometimes but I just feel like you optimize every single thing and take the time it all adds up better. I've definitely slapped several systems together with zero clue basically, it's hard sometimes to do it all right. 6th's are fun. See I did that dd9918 box those are 2500w that did like 154.x low 154 at 25.5 hz but it was on cheaper full bridge amps, I've seen specifically in the low hz Spl community amps really matter with controlling the subs, but yeah that 9918 box I wanted to do a 6th if I could but 2 18's don't fit in a scion tc well...lol. Car was literally blowing apart. But yeah overpowering your 4" coil with a cheaper full bridge power while playing in the 20's, I've just seen and heard it not end well several times, and even on very big systems. Amps have to control subs or be able to take the back induced current or whatever when doing stupid lows just from generalized experience. I could be wrong. Series 6ths doing the 20's is one of the most fun things to do IMO

Amplifiers aside just once I'd like to design around truly capable subs... haha. Something with a massive motor and a 8 layer coil. All jokes aside those that spend on premium solutions get better results. 2 Omega 15's on 20k yielded 157db around 38hz in a large SUV, 2 Pride M.45-15s in a 6th did 157-159db from 27-45hz on a 20k in a blowthru. I just wish if they're spending why not plan for the abuse? I was knockin' out 152's with a 1750w sub on 3K. I always seek more from less man. Every install has some fail point whether its the cabin, user wants and typical eye candy or just unwillingness to clean up the signal while addressing the other factors. Kiss it I say, big power and subs are no different so if you want big results some things may be a straighter approach.

I was underworking subs a little, dc 18's on 2400w rms total in a 29 hz music box doing 149.3 peak @ 35 hz. I did have roof work done though. Significant roof work. Yeah like for lows back in the day I did a 4th for dude for og x-15's did over a 150 at like 28 hz or something. Or like even my fav tline box for 8 blaupunkt factory rear deck replacement 8's doing 145 at 35 hz on a audiopipe like 1500. Idk I just mean planning goes a long way...but not everyone has time or experience enough to do things that way. I always had to plan for abuse bc we used to demo for hours sometimes at shows. You can't be in like 90 degree summer heat with your half *** stuff demoing for hours at full volume basically. It's gotta perform like a machine.

I tend to design for pure output that refects the drivers tendencies in a particular enclosure. Walls, no walled setups tend to be more of something limited by space vs the users purchased equipment. Just my .02

My dream system is under 600lb total with 2 drivers, enclosure, amplifiers, batteries and cables. Able to seriously tax the cabin (hell... the firewall) and deliver really big numbers.

I only set a weight limit due to many transmission failures in my and other's rides eventually over the years. I'm not a popular guy to get a design from, most want multiple cones flexin' on surfboard amps with CMaxx for days.
I'd rather save the car, kick their azz and spend less.

I had a towing transmission but my system ate my brakes lol. Idk, when I design I'm there to try to get you to your dream, as long as it's mostly do-able. I've done some just kind of like dental work box designs bc I'm probably insane somewhat, but I learn from it a lot. Pushing the limits is good sometimes. Have you ever done an under the rear seat of a pickup series 6th order? Shit like that gets rough man haha. Yeah I'm not big on stuffed systems if they're like that. You gotta do proper. It's like your OP post that's a proper flowing box with prosper airspace's and port areas and what not so that'll outperform these over-stuffed systems, at least in an efficiency, logic probably balanced bandwidth too standpoint IMO. Like I need you to fit 8 18's in the back of my Tahoe bro come on you're the box designer you can make it fit hahaha 💀

No... sometimes I just say no. I got talked into a RS Onyx 12 ported in about the smallest Bmw coupe once. A convertible no less. 30 drawings later I was pretty sure I'd never be able to charge enough so I gifted the damn thing to the shop doing the work.
2 10's in a 4th in a California Ferrari was a touchy mutha. The car was SMALL, the trunk even smaller especially with that foldable California top. Ahh... designing for stuff that is judged undoable is the juice man.
Forget about making money tho
