Should I just kill myself?

Im not insuring 2 vehicles and I dont want to drive a total POS car everyday. Ive had my van for almost a year and a half, had the system a while, and just wanna do something new.

The Express just gives so many problems and has cost me so much money to fix all these problems. Thats not going to change, its just going to keep giving me problems and going to keep costing alot of money. Im not willing to do it. I didnt even want a new van in the first place, I always wanted an old beater for SPL.

As for the money Ive put into it, I could sell all the equipment and end up with more money then I put into it.

I just want an old crappy Astro that I dont care about that just sits and is there for when I want to work on it and bring it out to some shows. It will never be driven, not be insured, and just sit in the garage back at my house 90% of the time. Im not looking for another vehicle, just basically a big stereo that happens to be in a van that I can tow to shows. Driving the Express everyday is just a reminder of the problems I have and how stressed I get about it. I will have grey hair before Im 25 if I keep that thing.

Pretty sure Im going to get rid of it, buy a daily, and work on selling off the equipment. Then when I get it all sold off, buy a cheap van and start saving money to build one of the loudest Astros out there. My van now is loud, and it does what I built it to do, play all types of music and demo for basically as long as I want. I think when the time comes around down the road Im going to do a monster Bassrace build... Hopefully something that would meter low 160s on music. I would build the thing myself, just to see how good of a monster box I can build without help.

Anyway, did a quick job on that door. Used some Bondo Hair to strengthen it, primered it, sprayed it, then cleared it. Doesnt look amazing, but it looks better than a gaping hole in the door.

Body work does not look to terribly bad, as far as I can tell. You bit off more than you can chew!! I do not know nor do I care of your financial situation. But you should expect problems with something like this. There is a huge difference between a daily driver and a daily driver. I commend you for your efforts, but I think you are rushing it a bit.......... When you achieve "financial" freedom then by all means proceed, but until then.........................

Not trying to be a dick, just trying to be practical:)

Yeah, I dont have money for stupid ish like this.

I know that if I had a project van on the side I would be in no rush to finish it. Would save up a bunch of money (working 2 part time jobs now), and really get some power. Id love to have a 40,000 watt Bassracer.

Age doesn't matter in this shit. I would do it right the first time, and be able to fund what needed to be done on this. This has humongous potential, but face it. At this point I assume it is not practical.... No shame in that, people are aware of what you were able to do on a shoestring budget;)

I don't really think you've thought this through as well as you should.

You're GOING to incur some kind of loss selling off all the shit you have now. Probably in the thousands if you plan on selling everything, that is, if you are even ABLE to sell everything. Are you prepared to take that kind of loss on the equipment, let alone how much you spent on labor for this van?

How much is a trailer big enough to handle the astro going to cost? How much is your insurance going to change when you have to buy a big 2500 or bigger truck to haul the astro around?

Do you think astros are maintenance free? Are you going to start bitching when things start to break on the astro? Yes, I realize it won't be a daily driver, but then what about if you can't take it to shows (the sole reason you own the van) because something broke?

I think you really need to sit down and figure out the math on everything before you bite the bullet.

Idk, for the prices I paid on everything, I would make money selling off all my equipment.

I just wanna get rid of the van, buy a daily, and start saving. Just take a break from having a loud car. Give it a couple months of just working and saving cash and Ill be dying to have another loud car. Im really in no rush here.

This sounds like it is spoken from personal experience //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

I don't care what you paid for your equipment, you'll incur some losses.

That is, if you even manage to sell 6 3000d's, 24 subs, and an asston of batteries.

Let alone how much you spent on wood, vinyl, labor, etc.

You're going to be the hole a giant amount.

Personal experience? No.

But I have many friends who compete at a much higher level (and spend much, MUCH more money) than I do, and I'm just relaying their opinions on the matter.

Yeah, I dont really care about any of that. This wouldnt be a driveable car anyway.
Just take what I said to heart man. You'll be in a lot more money than if you just hang on to what you have and fix the problems as you go. I think that you're just frustrated with the way things have been and just want to give it all up for the "easier" option, even though in reality it isn't any easier.
