Should I just kill myself?

Im pretty sure Im going to try to sell the van. I will get a truck to drive daily and just drive that for a while while I sell off most of my equipment. I would do a small small system in my daily so I still had something to listen to, then when a good deal came across I would buy a cheap van. It wouldnt get driven, have no insurance, and just get trailered. I would build it myself, probably at first a not so expensive groundpounder setup but eventually it would be a nasty loud van.

Now to actually decide if this is 100% what I want to do before I rip the van apart. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

If I could sell it as it sits, I would. That would be great, but I dont see it happening.

I think Ill just take the system out, sell the van, buy a DD, then sell the parts as I can.

Kinda sad really.

All the money you've put into this great install and you're going to piss it all away?

Of course shit's gonna break. You're doing near 160 db in the 30 hz range. You think an astro is gonna hold up any better?

Sure, it won't be a daily driver, but now you have the hassle of needing a big truck and good size trailer just to tow the hunk of shit around.

you picked the right van to put a big system in. 8 lug axles, 3/4 ton frame, bigger motor.

Keep the van and buy a normal car for daily driving. Then you won't have to waste MORE money doing another gigantic install in a new vehicle, won't have to buy/store a trailer, and won't have to buy a truck capable of towing a heavy *** van.

You're really making this more difficult than it has to be.

Think of how lame this scenario would be:

You are hanging out at a local cruise night or just bs'ing with some friends or something. Stereos get involved and you say "I got a van with 24 15's in it". They say "OH SNAP, I WANNA HEAR IT!"

Then you say "oh....well.....it's not here because it weighs 8000 pounds and I have to trailer it everywhere"

Yeah, that's way cooler than having a van you can at least drive around in.

With all the work/money you've put into it, it would be a shame to just scrap it. How much does a beater Honda cost? A grand?

If you do decide to sell it, I may want 2 15"s depending upon the price.

Kinda sad really.

I COMPLETELY agree with tommy....in all these points. Your a pioneer in a lot of aspects, your van is larger, newer, has the possibility of looking better then ANY old astro...EVERYONE has a fcking astro for a spl car.

Theres NO point in you losing ALL this money on this van when all you are having are some battery and electrical problems to have it runnning?!

Come on man...everybody has problems with their cars. you've already passed 90% of the sh!t you'd entounter with ANOTHER build.

Every one of TommyK's points is so true.

I was at that point with my M3....i didn't like driving it daily. so I drove my sport trac as daily.....and it's the best senario of all. Whenever you feel like it, you can pull out your heavy artillery on good days and weekeeds and still have A/C which to me is a whole lot cooler then a POS older van you have to deal with in FL heat. ONLY reason I sold my M3 was because going any bigger with it required some serious $$$$...something I can't do. Your not in that position! the problems **** trust me I know, but the badass-ness of your van doing 160's WITH A/C and everything else FARRR outweighs your problems your having!!!!

i mean this van is as close as it gets to a vehicle that can handle this kinda of weight daily...

i really just can't understand where it would make sense to rip all this shit out, sell the van, buy 2 new vehicles, and rebuild an astro... especially if your paying for help..
