dude you are an idiot why would you get something at 4ohms that does 800rms thats gonna cost alot more, you can wire them to a 1ohm load and get something that does 800@1ohm and i would suggest something that does 1k@1ohm so its not as expensive
only good thing with an amp that does 800@4ohms is you have more power avaible since it can prob do 2 and 1ohm

or maybe it is doing the power you want at a higher efficiency...

Hey guys.
I Ohmeometered my Subbox and got 3.6ohms.

This means that my Dual 12" CVRs are 4 total ohm and not blown right???

Does this mean that there is something wrong with my amp?

Unfortunately not.

I have it set at about 30%, with the Bass Boost knob at the same.

I've tried with the SubSonic Filter on and off.

Ive tried with and without the remote Bass Control knob hooked up.

I really think that there is something wrong with the amp itself.

Even if it wasn't broken, it is still less power than the subs call for so eliminating the amp altogether seems like what I am going to do.

I want to find a cheap 600w RMS x 1 @4Ohms amp though.

Any suggestions? I have looked throught the classifieds here and wasn't able to find exactly what I was looking for. Link me if you guys know of anything.

If those are single 4 ohm vc on those subs then you can drop them down to 2 ohms and get a amp that runs 2 ohm mono like that kicker you have. check your RCA cables for pinches or shorts in them

The Subs are Dual 2ohm voice coils.

As in 2x2ohm voice coils on each sub and there are two subs.

only lthing i saw was a kicker 1500.1, that would suit your system nicely, id be willing to bet it would put out enough to give em each 400 @4ohms, not sure wat your budget is though...

Turn the bass boost all the way off, gain below 50%.

That amp is underpowering the subs, maybe the kid you bought it from kept pushing it in protect and f-ed up the protect circuit, or did the switcharoo on the amps before you bought it, which is more likely.

Look for a good amp that does 800 watts at 2 ohms, assuming your subs have single 4 ohm coils. Keep your eye on the classifieds, there is a ton of good deals in there.

oh and from what I have learned here in the past few days, Im SURE he switched i]out the amps. Sucks, but I knew he was a douche bag.

We'll see what happens with a more powerful amp.

No problem, keep the gains set low and make sure the subs aren't heating up. After playing for awhile feel the dustcaps, and if they are heating up you will smell it, the smell is pretty bad.

SO I spoke to the guy selling that Kicker ZX-1000.1 and I guess it's a 14.4v amp.

Im running 12v and I read that I would take a 20% hit in RMS wattage if I ran it at that.

That puts the rating at 400w RMS x1 @ 4Ohms.

Better but still not the 600w RMS that my Subs are calling for.

If it was 500wRMS like at 14.4v I'd be all about it tho.

gotta remember that kickers put out a lot more then rated as well. my 750.1 was rated 952 @ 14.4 and at 12 i was prolly seing 750 to 800. those amps will push em
