I like A5's theyre easy to light up that big ol hopper! Dont know how they are now, but when I was a teck, the A 5's had a load of issues with the hopper feed mechanisim.
Spyders. Piranha's and all other Spyder Clones sucked. Valves always leaked and the sear always wore out so it wouldnt re-****.
Timmy is a modified Spyder with a solenoid
maybe 10% of Cocker owners know how to time them CORRECTLY
98 Customs can be tricky to install simple upgrades like RT Triggers, Expansion Chambers etc for a noob. But they are still tanks
Dye's ealier DM line had board issues
ION is a AIR HOG and said to be unreliable
Shockers are nice but need mods to conserve air
Impulses are nice but need to be modded for efficiency (most used ones are modded already)
If you are planning on playing recball or scenario, but a Tippmann 98 Custom. Looking for a used one, get one with:
Double Trigger : Just makes the gun easier to shoot
Expansion Chamber: Allows the gun to shoot Co2 better, and prevents liquid Co2 from getting to the valve
RT Trigger: Will let you tune the ROF of the gun using "left over" air from the valve
14" Barrel: Stay away from THUNDER PIG if they are still made.. JUNK! Ive seen some bent, and Tippmann Flatline barrels are more trouble that they are worth. Sure the ball MAY travel farther, but it wont break once it gets there since it has no velocity behind it.
Heres my old Tippy I just sold a few weeks back:
and heres my "heavy" Impulse LOL
Just for fun.. One of my older cockers and the other Impy
Just remember the faster your gun can shoot, the more expensive it is to play!
