no gun shoots harder or faster than another gun, stop flooding him with bs that you dont know about.

truf, all guns should be chrono'd at 300fps or less (depending on your fields rules ) any higher and it can break the lenses in masks.

more importantly than the gun you shoot is the mask you wear, if you get a cheap mask its just gonna fog up and piss you off.

Find you a cheap set of JT Proflexes ( like $40 ) and be happy.

and that longer barrel does nothing to improve accuracy or distance, paint to bore match is much much more important.

go over to the newbie forum on pbn and read up.

ps you can get stock tippmanns over there for like 60 bucks

I would try and find an older impulse. Low pressure, high efficiency ftw, cheap, and fully customizable.

That said, theres all kinds of CRAP in this thread. No gun shoots HARDER than any other gun. Field limits MAX is 300fps. Most will hover around 275-280fps though. The masks lense is rated for about 400fps. If you get bunkered (shot at close range) at even 250fps, you WILL bleed.

As far as the tank fills go. A Co2 tank is about 850psi until it starts to go empty, then it drops rapidly. Co2 tanks are refilled based on a tank cascade or balance method.

Compressed Air (aka Nitrogen, HPA) store compressed air at pressures of 3,000psi and 4,500psi. 3k is steel tanks, 4,5k is always fiber wrapped tank. You can fill from a compressor IF you have a $5k booster pump, but you'll also need bottles of compressed air to get the bulk of the tank filled using the cascade method, THEN change over to the booster/tank/compressor method... You CAN run the gun off your home compressor, but it has to be a low pressure marker. The Tippmann IS NOT, and wont properly cycle at 125psi, it needs 400psi. My Impulse will, however since the high pressure reg is set at 110psi.

What you buy when you pay more for a gun is quality, size, weight. Full electo guns are cheap now. Accuracy comes from the barrel choice, and quality of paint and its fit WITH the barrel of choice which is why you see barrel kits. They have interchangable sleeves that match the paint you shoot.

The Tippmann you are looking at is a great gun. BUT it has all kinds of useless crap add ons. It may look kewl, but you dont need and will never use a stock, nor the clip. They are notorious for being tanks. And you can bring it home, and WASH it out (literally), oil it up and put it away til the next time you play. Itll be ready!

um im not small at all..... playing with a heavy gun is still gay regardless. try an unmilled 03 autococker with a steely tank and steel barrel.... yea thats heavy and i prefer a lighter gun and there is no point in buying a gay impulse.

sadly, I can carry my "outdated" Imp onto any field and still rip heads off with it. Dont need to spend $1200 for the latest paintball launcher. I dont care how light or cheap feeling it may be. AND Id take that unmilled AC of yours before just about any other gun as well. Closed bolt goodness FTW

closed bolt doesnt do anything diff..... and "ripping heads" has nothing to do with the gun. i like snapping much better with my 2 pound gun than an heavy one.... i spent 170 and my gun will walk all over your impulse..... shit my bros ion would too. And dont say "oh u prolly know nothing about autocockers" cuz i have built 2 and both were ebladed and one was half blocked......so i know a lil about them.

ive shot an ego, ive shot a cyborg, i have shot pm's and dm's, and the karnivor still feels better than all of them.

old unmilled cockers are definitly no teh heaviest, infact they are one of the most sought after guns.

and i can rip my karnivor at 18bps on semi, no ramping or anything.

Maybe since Ive only been out like a handful of times, but the SRGNT Splatters place I go to, its 175. And they check every gun owners gun when you walk in (im sure you can adjust it easy though right)

Ive taken some mean shots though, some gun HURT, the one that hurt the most believe it or not was a cheap looking pump action gun, ripped skin @ 50feet

tippman makes quality guns, the 98c is great. The LAST thing you should worry about it "velocity" of the gun. It can be adjusted on all guns but there is no need to, like stated before should be 200-300 (indoor vs. outdoor). Having it higher is dangerous and wont give you any imporvements in accuracy vs distance. Also, a 16" barrel is retarded. 10" is all you need, but 12" is common and most widely used. Most important part of the gun is the barrel, look into spending $40-$90 for a high quality one and you wont regret it. Anyway, stock and ak mag is stupid.
