Firsts things first. Great site. Alot of topics, and alot of people that seem to know a thing or too about audio.

Well, thats what brings me here. My truck is off the road for the winter ( 2000 F-150 ex-cab Harley Davidson) and i am going to be putting a system in it for the summer. So i am tring to get some good info on speakers, subs, and amps. I am looking for good stuff, but not over priced high end stuff.

The only thing i have so far is a home made box that fits under my back seat. It holds 2-10's down firing, sealed, with about 5.5 inchs of depth. With about .8 cubic ft for each sub. Box is made right, screwed, glued and sealed. I've put systems in all my other cars i've owned, but they were just thrown together systems. I'm looking for some good stuff. I'm looking to have 800-1000 going to the subs (peak) and about 600 (peak) to some 6x9 (or 5x7).

Music i listen to is usually rap and dance/tecno. And some times heavey stuff.

Any info on a good set up would be great.

sorry about the novel!

forget about the 6x9's and get yourself a good set of components. CDT audio makes a couple good mid-priced sets. put about 150w rms to them and you'd have a nice front stage. I have the hd62 set ($330 shipped from djdillondon) and love them. As for the subs, you will be a bit limited due to the depth of your box. I know that the JL 10w1v2 has a shallow mounting depth, so that would work for you. I've never heard that sub though, so I can't tell you how it sounds, just trying to give you ideas. I'd do a little research and you should find a sub that works for your apllication. just make sure that the mounting depth of the sub is around 5" so that it has some venting. good luck and have fun!

Thanks for the ideas. It all helps out. Know that i am talking to a bunch of people about different set ups, i keep getting a bunch of answers.

Its all good though, the more i listen the more i know.

Got a budget in mind? what you consider pricey may be my average. What I think is high end, may be your entry level. Get my drift? Are you looking for SQ, SPL, or a combination of the 2 (sql)? Glad to help, just don't want to recomend a bunch of stuff way over or under your price range.
