Look here, can I fit any sub in here?

Alright I have an extremely small space to work with. I discovered a small compartment (9" tall 9" wide 4" deep on the top and 7" deep on the bottom) in the back of my 328 vert. Can anything fit in here? Maybe a 6 inch midbass? 8" would probably be way to big. The box could stick out a little (2-3 inches) if it had to. I have no bass at all and would just like to upgrade it a little (dont need ground shaking bass).

If you cut out the back piece of the compartment, are you looking into the trunk? If so, you could do that, use a sealed 8" and still retain 95% of your trunk and mount the amp to the part of the box sticking out...I did that in my dads 3.2cl type-s...came out really nice but the space was almost as twice as tall.

thats what im tryin to figure out:)
You need to decide if you want a 6.5" or an 8".Then on paper come up with a small design, take that design to a shop that does fiberglassing in your area and get a price quote. That's what i would do if you serious or maybe you can get hooked up with someone on the forum that does fiberglass.Goodluck!!

Would an 8" sub fit? I could have the enclosure stick out forward but I dont want to cut into the trunk.

well. if you are ok with it, i would build an enclosure that stuck out a bit for an 8 on the front, and cut the back fo that thing out to get to the trunk (if possible. i would fiberglass it all the way on the inside (so its removeable from the back still) and put like a really high power 8" sub in there and cover the front with white vynl to match, maybe a grill if you can find a nice one. then extend the enclosure out into the trunk to gain a bit more airspace and have it double as an amprack.

it would certainly come out really awesome if done right.
