newbie speaker install help please

You just leave that alone and find somewhere else to mount your ppi amp. If you ever sell the car you want everything in its original condition.
So if I'm not replacing the stock amp with mine, how do I use the stock existing speaker wire? Or do I have to run all new speaker wire?

Run all new speaker wire. It's not too bad just a little time consuming.
ok i can handle that, what do i do behind the head unit? right now its hooked up to the stock harness with an adapter i bought online. but if i continue to use the stock harness wont the stock amp still be powered? or do i just tap into the stock power, ground and remote. then run rca to my new amp?

Just ordered the sound stream. How hard is it to replace a factory amplifier with one of these guys is it just cutting wires and plugging into the new amp?
I did this in my Tahoe. I left the factory amp in place, since it wasn't interfering with my better audio, and just removed the wire harnness from it and cut the necessary wires needed only to run them to my amp.

Your speaker wire will run from the crossover directory the amp. The amp will need rca's from the head unit and also some kind of remote turn on wire. Do you have another amp installed for any sub(s)?

i have another amp for my subs but it is also not installed yet. do i run the remote turn on for the amp from the head unit or should i tap into another remote power source

That's up to you. I'd do whatever is easier. For my wife's fx35 I just tapped into the wire running to the "subs" sitting in the spare wheel well. Also, I would install all at once to make it easier on you. What's your plan for sub amp and sub setup?

i will be installing a wolfram audio 3000.1 amp and 2 soundquebed hdc3.18's in a custom built box that ill make. id like to do all at once but i don't know if i can do it all in a weekend and this is my daily driver.

could u give me some more info for what to do behind the head unit? do i just find the wiring diagram and hook up the corresponding wires from the pioneer harness?

Rca's are just plug in the rear and run to the amps. The wiring diagram will tell you what wire to use for remote turn on and same as rca's, just run to the amps.

Do you have any electrical upgrades to handle that kind of power? I just got the 3000.1 and it looks pretty nice for the price I paid.

ya i paid 360 for it, arrived a week or 2 ago. i have a 270 amp high output alternator from mechman ready to install, plan on better battery up front and possibly another in back if necessary. i also need to do the big 3 upgrade.

what do i do with the stock speaker wires once i remove the stock speakers? just cap them? will they still be live if i don't remove my stock amp?
Nice, that'll get stupid loud. I had one treo ssi 10 sealed in ours and it was awesome. Yeah I'd just cap them but also if you know where the factory amp is, just disconnect it.

Let me know how it turns out. Thinking about redoing my wife's fx35. I seriously hate the head unit. It has zero functionality and shows the radio station or the a/c display. Super boring.

just a heads up, idk what year your fx is but they don't make a dash kit for my 2004. no stereo store would touch it, so i did it myself and put a single din where the tape player was. the circuit board had to be cut but only the part that controls the tape player. ive seen some people who replace the orange screen near the dash with a double din.
