i have a 2004 infinti fx35. stock bose system ***** major armpit hair //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif. i don't think the car even has tweeters. will be having a lot of bass in the back so only looking to run speakers upfront. i got a pair of alpine spr-60c 6.5 inch 4 ohm components for free so ill use those. stock stereo has 6.5 doors and three 3.5 inch speakers in the dash. was thinking about replacing the two 3.5's on both sides of the dash with the tweeters from my alpine set. what should i do with the center 3.5? disconnect it? replace it with a better 3.5? i need an amplifier for these components, any recommendations? I'm sure ill have more questions as i go but thanks for all that reply.

Do you plan on replacing the head unit?

my main question is if i should use the center speaker in the dash or not. will a pair of components only be loud enough? or should i put a good 3.5 in the center? was planning on just a 2 channel amp but if I'm gonna but a 3.5 coaxial in the center of the dash don't i need a 3 channel now?

Once you get your front speakers in and tuned good, to the point of where you like them, I would say disconnect that center speaker. Very few people use it anyway.

aftermarket head unit is already installed. its a pioneer DEH-X6900BT.....has 3 rca preouts
Oh OK nice. My wife has an 09 and the screen is worthless ha. I wouldnt worry about that middle dash speaker and leave it disconnected. As for the component amp, the soundstream tn900.4, ppi 900.4 and nvx jad 800. 4 are popular here as they are essentially the same amp and good price. I'm looking into getting one of those in the near future.

Ok but aren't those too much rms per channel for these speakers? They r rated at 110 but I'd like to send them between 110 and 150

Nope. Once you set the gain properly, a little more power to speakers won't hurt them. Just use some common sense and knokledge and you won't blow them.

Oh and sense those amps are 4 channels and I only need 2 how do I set that up? Would I have to bridge it? Or should I find a 2 channel amp? I don't plan on adding any more speakers.

so I'm still confused on the whole amount of channels and ohms thing. if I'm only powering a pair of 4 ohm components, can i use a 4 channel amp? do i only use 2 of the 4 channels then?

1 spkr per terminal on a 4 ch amp.....so lets say you have a mid/tweet comp set you wanna hook up. In that set, should come with a x-over...which is really easy to install/set up/hookup. The input on the x-over will be from the amp's speaker wires. Thus will be "A" side of the amp, or in other words, just a set of - + - + . The "B" side can be used for rear speakers if you choose to.

ok so ill get a 4 channel amp that does at least 110 rms per channel at 4 ohms. then hook up my pair of components to just the "A" side of the amp, and leave the "B" side empty. and i can just cut out the stock amp and put in my new one? upgrading the power and ground wires obviously? then run my speaker wire from new amp to the passive crossovers in the doors and then from crossover to mids and tweeters? is all this correct? thanks for the help.

This is my thought as well. Would be a much better box volume if you could buy the 12" version of those subs.
