New system opinions

as soon as i choose a headdeck(current thread about it in h/u section), i am installing the following.....

1 JL Audio 10w3v2 - $149

1 JL Audio 250/1 amp - $329

2 JL Audio XR650CSI - $310

Old alpine amp(1995) - $0

how are those products? the only thing i have thought about changing is if I can fit a 12w3 in the same spot as the 10, I might go with it and drive it with the JL 500/1. But currently it is looking like I won't have enough room for that. Any thoughts? How are those highs?

Seems like a pretty solid setup to go with. If you can afford/fit the 12, go with that.

if u plan on getting the 10w3 or 12w3.....u need around 5 or 600watts

Like everyone else said, get the 12. Yes you will need to get a box. Jl has boxes specifically for that sub in the 12" version, but can be very expensive. Best bet is to go get one professionally done. Would be cheaper to do that. Good luck!

Also get the 500/1 to power it otherwise it wont be putting the sub to full potential.

well I just went and checked again and I just won't have enough airspace for the 12. I have a Ford Supercrew with a 60/40 bench seat. the box is going in the middle in front of the bench. I don't want to sacrifice the functionality of my back seat or I would do it back there. with some plexi work and a custom box, they can get me around .8 cf for the box. which should be optimum for the 10w3. but I have to get crazy and a bit uglier to get the 12 in there, and it still wouldn't be optimum air space. they would much rather sell me the 12 and 500/1, but they still suggest going with the 10 since they can make it look much nicer and they said it will sound much better since the 12 can't reach optimum airspace.

now, i was told the 250/1 is plenty for the 10w3 and the 500/1 is overkill..... is that right? or should I still go with the 500/1 for the 10 also?

just dropped off the truck for the install, well here is hte total list of damage:

i couldn't fit the 12 in there, just no way to make the box look good. but I am upgrading to the 10w6 instead of the w3, with a 500/1
