When I talked with Scott this is pretty much what he said:

It's just an in between sub. It's really made for those who have too much power for a Q [1800+ RMS], but not quite enough for the BTL [

I asked him if it was worth it to wait and buy it, instead of a Q, and he said not really. That'd basically just mean I need a bigger amp is all.
