At the risk of sounding ghetto as hell...

why not be a man and use real carbon fiber. I have a 1/4 inch thick sheet. $300 a square foot
Uh, because I'm busy being a man & paying the mortgage...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

Real carbon fiber is a waste of money anyhow... It's not very practicle to spend hundreds of dollars to save a couple of pounds. You'd be better of using that money and getting a gym membership. My point is, carbon fiber is useless to the average consumer.

Thanks for posting something useful unlike the other yahoos up there. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/greedy.gif.5a53e6246569d7ab79867170f3b06629.gif

I'm making an amp rack cover that'll expose the heat sinks, one of the amps has a carbon fiber finish & I thought that might match up well.

Real carbon will save me what, 50 grams? Yeah, that's worth $1200. Maybe on my bike, not the amp rack.

This will sound worse than it is -
I'm looking for a large carbon fiber sticker, about 22" square. I can probably piece multiples together if necessary. Who would sell something like that?
http://www.alsacorp.com - look under fx sheating materials - real carbon fiber sandwiched between two thin pieces of lexan with an adhesive backung, new product developed between this company and General Electric, i used it on my amp rack, only problem is it really needs to be above 70 degrees outside for it to stick, but when it does, its there forever. i have some left over peices i can send you a sample if you want, pm me with your info. this stuff runs $12.00 per square foot and is a 2 sf minimum as it is 2 ft wide.

Those ppl make some funky stuff! The glowing tiles are amazing.
I think for now it's carpet or suede for the cover - doing the CF will be so unforgiving of the shape of the cover & I've got a lot of curves to negotiate. I may re-do it a little later.

Thanks for the help. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
