New DD sub.....Serial #0001

Just wanted to say that the 3500F motor I have utilizes a faraday ring. I recall Pete Kulicki asking Steve from DD if a particular DD driver had a faraday ring, as well.

Even though they don't need it, seems like DD is uppig their game.

If the overall efficiency is higher then either this is the case, or the topplate is thicker... because the shorting ring will reduce efficiency...
Ah, I didn't think about the top plate...I'm just curious as to what is actually different. Knowing DD and their habit for keeping things a mystery they won't really release what has been done.

You gotta patent that stuff man, the smaller most simple things should be patented. Bob Carver patented any driver with more than .5" excursion, and made bank off of that for a very long time, youd be surprised what you could get away with, with a good patent writer of course.
