I never thought I would resort to a bandwidth-******* noobish thread like this, but I am at my wits' end.
I may have started off a little backwards: I purchased a Boston Acoustics 400m (400w RMS) mono amp and a GTA-502 to power components. I'm not sure how long I'll be keeping my car (1986 bmw 325eS, coupe) so I will be holding off on upgrading the speakers for the moment. I would, however, like some bass. Below are some possibilities I've found (I would link to each, but it won't let me as I am new):
Pioneer: TS-W308D2 400w RMS Dual 2ohm -- They also have the Dual 4ohm for $10 less; what's the difference here? Can't you just wire it down? // 12" Premiere (TS-W1208D2 Dual 2ohm)

I haven't even really looked into boxes yet. With my budget, I'm not expecting anything that will bring down the house. I'm not an audiophile, but I can't ignore SQ. I'm just looking for a solid match, is reliable/quality, and something that will put a smile on my face (which is pretty much anything beyond my current stock sound system). Any help and/or recommendations are greatly appreciated!
