My first RE product build

This is for my first ever RE product. The sub is a little SE10. I can't open it til tomorrow morning so getting this done tonight. I have to leave for work in 15minutes though so will be up tonight finishing. Don't have carpet but will carpet next week.

My first time calculating and designing a ported enclosure. I have already learned to check dimensions a gahtrillbillion times. It will be 1.5cf tuned to ~28Hz with 21sq in of port area.

Actually, I completely free-handed all the cuts with a circular saw. Some of the pieces were like 1/8" off so I just sanded them down. I need a table saw.

My work let me leave early (worked 2hrs) so after dinner gonna go finish gluing the port. Pics will come tonight.

looks good. free handing with a circular saw is tricky, i can do it really good with my cordless kuz it is set up for leftys(which i am) i have gotten a lot better with my corded saw. get some pics up of the speaker tomorrow

Any reason why you didn't use screws?

screws are just used for holding it together while the glue dries. With a properly built enclosure, you can remove them and have the same exact strength. I choose to use brad nails on mine from now on.

Well I planned on putting some screws in once glue is dry. Just for extra strength even though the glue is stronger than the MDF.

How long do I need to wait for the caulk to dry or whatever before I drop the SE in?

I glue it, brad nail it to hold it til the glue dries, then just for the hell of it I screw it to pull the wood as tight as it can and throw in a few more nails.
