Nahh. I've reconed subwoofers and ran them with others plenty of times. Just take it easy on the new subwoofer for a few days to let the suspension loosen up.

Are Twisted Sounds any good? Like, $550 for a 3.5K amp good?

Great amps but IIRC they went out of business when the owner got arrested for drug trafficking.

So, your choice. Twisted Sounds 3.5 K for $500 or a Smart3K. Stock electrical with an AGM battery.

I run the TS parameters. I’ve never listened to factory recommendations. There are way too many variables with ported subs to just blanket a number to it. I think that Orion would have plenty of wattage btw, now that I’m checking it out. with some extra probably.

I don’t know how to do that. Have you ever run the numbers on a VFL8D4? A very affordable sub for the younger crowd.

Smart 3 for sure on stock electrical. In my reg cab truck with my AQ3500.1 I ran an HO alt and AGM and still didn't have enough.

I don’t want to dump money into the build. What are your thoughts on using the 4 gauge wire that is currently running the Digital Designs amp? So, basically, I would be changing the sub box and amp only. Maybe, an hour job.

So, the MD calls for 4 gauge, but the Smart calls for 1/0? My MD had a 2 foot long 4 gauge power and ground. I know, it was a unicorn.

The MD would need 1/0 as well but they were designed with having a rear battery bank so the smaller 4 gauge is plenty for a 3 foot run from the rear battery. People complained so the new Smart line has 1/0.

So, do you think the 4 VFL8's on a Smart 3K is worth the build? Or, is it not worth the time and money? I just thought that 4 good 8's on a 3K in a standard cab would be different.

I'm sure that I would be able to tell the difference between 2-8's on 900 watts as opposed to 4-8's on 3,000 watts.

I think so, the air space might be tight. Maybe, .75 for each sub.
