Pioneer Head units and company is sold to CarUX, a Taiwanese maker of smart cockpit solutions

I recommend just do it.
Yesterday the sale was announced. Pioneer is bought off for $1.1 billion dollars. What will this mean for Pioneer? All the products. New name? Or leave it.

If it’s a new name, many will be surprised or upset. No more favorite head units.

Because I just spent $1.1 billion dollars to change probably one of, if not the most recognized name in consumer electronics in the industry for why?

Name's not going anywhere.

Wasn't Pioneer sold like 5 years ago or something?? You know.. when all their head units went to $hit and you started seeing people complain of failures with the double dins across different forums..

When I read about this in the news, I was extremely shocked. I know they had some headhunt issues, but to be honest, just about all of them did. Their amps and speakers are pretty solid equipment. I'm extremely curious on where the new company will take them.

I just upgraded from a Pioneer AVH_2800BS in my 2014 Mazda 2 with steering wheel controls to the new 1800 NEX. Can't find any reviews or forums even you tube videos only on the 1770 NEX which got bad reviews. I upgraded cause I wanted Android Auto and so far it's been a week or so and I love the stereo. I was told it would be easier if I got another Pioneer and than I found out the 1800 NEX came out in March and was the same price as the older model 1770 NEX. I love it! Just wanted an inexpensive one and I went from 6.2 to 6.8 screen. It's nice having Android Auto.

The problem I have with other brands are getting to the features. You have to go to multiple screens to get to the audio adjustments. I have JVC, Kenwood, Sony, and Pioneer decks in our cars. The Pioneer is the easiest to use. My son just swapped out his JVC for a Pioneer deck and he loves it.
