I started in the 86 to 90 era. I remember when 2 15's and 400 watts was insane. Hell I had an old Lanzer Opti 500 did 1000 rms at 4 ohms. It took 2 batteries and bigger alt to keep it from stalling my car. That was power. I still have a Rockford Power 650 I bought in 92. If I had a scanner I would show you guys some old systems I had. I had 12 12" Kicker comps, 6 15" Petras Prowlers, 6 " Petras Cardiacs, 8 12" Kicker Comps, and to many more to list. Loved those days. For competing if all your car did was buzz at 60 hertz you were in last place, nobody gave a sh+t about that they wanted to sit in it and not breath and hear the music just as loud. Every car was judged on install, clarity, loudness and etc, not just a buzz. If you could not roll the strip with it then you did not bring it.
if you are 30 (as your profile says).. you didnt start competing in 1986-1990 era:) you would=born in 1977 wich would make you.. 9 in 1986, and 13 in 1990:) no need to lie:)

as to 18 mids/highs.. that was as retarded back then as it is now:) no, im not old school. no need to be:)

WOW! Thanks for starting this thread. I just got lost down memory lane. LOL:D Pullout cassette decks, Kenwood 820, etc., 18 mids and highs. Those were the days. First system was Kenwood. Don't remember deck model #, but had 2 9020's, an 8020, and a 7020. the 9020's were running 4 Pyle Pro 12's

Owned by math...or owned by lying on your profile. Heh. I love this place!

I voted 1980-1985 only because thats as far back as your poll went.

Im actually from the 1970's, where Kraco and Sparkomatic were the top names in power boosters, and Jim Rockford hadnt even thought about making his auto amps yet.

I was helping build systems to compete in "C.A.N", "T.O.W" and the Alpine Nationals......these were the organizations which later merged and became iasca

"Car Audio Nationals" "Thunder On Wheels"

As far as cass decks go my favorite that I owned was the Kenwood KRC999 and KRC999II both bad*ss units with a $1200.00 price tag.....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif:D:D

Loved the look of them, but way out of my budget.
