Heavy Sub, Box Help?

Just going on pic I would guess under 35sq inches. What kinda power you got? 2.25 might be decent if you plan on tossing 3-4k on it. From my experience the 9500's start to really shine after 2k is given.

Both in the same box the 9512 will **** a 2512 but that being said I would build the correct box for a 9512 not just use one I have laying around. Rabbit can prob build you one for under 150 shipped PM him. Also, PM mike465 can get a diy kit for dirt cheap and just follow the instructions and have a top notch box for next to nothing plus u get to build it. U just dont have to wry bout the math and cuts as its all done for u. We all know the box will make or break a sub.

Well I have got the BXI in my sig so thats what I have to work with... probably after I get a 2nd batt thou lol... well like I said I put it up for sale with the sub so if someone buys it great if not Ill use it for awhile and then maybe build something new later down the road...

If ur thinking about that 9512 in the FS section you better grab it before I do LOL.. Just playing I would but Id be better off getting a second wmd2 then just getting a 9512 as I know my wmd2 can hang with a 9500 all day.

Think Im going to just trying to figure out if I can use my box or not and if I can get mine sold first... It sounds like it wont be great in my box thou //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

So get a new box. Cost bout $50-$60 if u can build it yourself. Or PM Mike my box in my sig cost $86 shipped. Then all I had to do was buy some titebond 3 and some drywall screws ($15) and I have one hell of a nice box double baffle, 45's, dowels, rounded port edges the works. This is my 3rd box from Mike and his wrk is top notch..

For the price he is asking for on that 9512 its a great deal even if you cant afford a box right now I would snatch it up and hold it till I did.

^^ thats assuming it is as he describes. I asked for pics of coil reading but he is unable to get them so IDK.

Ive found that between homedepot and either a router (preferred) or jigsaw a box can be really easy to throw together.

get a design for an optimal box that would fit in your car and take the all the cutout sizes with you to homedepot (before 10am it can be easier to get somebody to make a bunch of cuts because there arnt a ton of customers yet)

after that all you really need is to cut out the hole for the speaker x2 for double baffle and drill/screw/glue

if you had a table saw and wanted to get fancy with it cut some 45's for the corners and round the mdf on all the port areas with a wood rasp.

Ive only built about 4-5 boxes so far but when I first started at it I was nervous about it and wasnt sure about some things but after I got a couple under my belt I was really happy with making my own boxes. once its all glued I would take out the screws and run the router across all the edges to 45 them off and then use a woodrasp to round them off. I got really tired of sharp corners tearing up things like my trunk gasket plus if done right you can wedge a little bigger box in there.

Ive got alot of good comments about all the rounded edges. people that paid 200+$ to get a box built at a shop were really disappointed after they saw how nice my box looked in comparison.

Homedepot really takes care of the hardest part anyways with their panel saw. as long as the guy knows what hes doin on it you can get extremely accurate cuts for 25 cents each cut with almost no waste from your sheet. it does help if you lay out a diagram on paper on how to cut it so you can see where you waste mdf.

plus when your done you feel really good about being able to make your own box
