Fiberglass ranger door pods.

plan on using lots of bondo eh?
From experience i found that its easier to just get a nice stretchy fleece and do it as tight as possible without ripping. Bondo is to fix minor surface imperfections, not necessarily whole craters //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
Well, not that much. Lol. It's really not that bad, it's just the pictures make it look really bad. And I do have fleece, but I thought using speaker grill cloth would be easier to get around the tweeter ring and just all around easier to use since this isn't a big project. It's turned out nice so far so I'm not too worried. Haha. Where the cloth makes a "V" shape after the 6.5 ring, I'll make that more prominent and have the "V" along with everythin in front of it (meaning the speaker rings) painted a metallic silver, with the rest being painted navy blue. But we might change the colors up. Who knows. Lol

yea you may want to go ahead and try again bondo is not going to fix that
not to mention properly stretched fabric be it fleece or whatever will end up with a much better overall shape
Well you should have seen my kickpanels when they were being fiberglasses. My kickpanels make these look like gold. Haha. And I used bondo to get everythin nice and smooth, and everything turned out good. I'll say to you what I would any other punk kid who's got a "system" and likes talks trash, "I'd like to see you do this and have it turn out half this good on your second fiberglass project". Just saying. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

first of all not a "punk kid with a system"
second were it my second glass project i would not be charging someone for that
First of all, I wasn't calling you a punk kid, I was just refering to the fact the losers around here who think they've got a system talk shit on the kids who do have nice systems.

Secondly, it's my tools, my shop, and my time, and I think all of that is worth something. Would you work a job for a week and not want to get paid? I wish I had that kind of money where I could just waste my time doing something and not get anything in return.

that's a good way to put it.

Got the first layer on and sander down, and now I'm waiting on the second layer to dry. The second layer pretty much is, so i put them on the door with tape down, and filled the gap between the door and the pods to give them I nice clean line. I'll probably be sanding on these most of the day tomorrow, and they might get finished tomorrow depending on what time I have to got into work. Picture time!!

3 layers of fiberglass. And I've seen multiple install's on fiberglassforums.com that use that much bondo. So idk what to tell ya. Haha. And to Brokeitagain, your honestly judging what it looks like now to what it will look like when it's done? You just need to GTFO if that's all you've got to say because obviously you don't know there is a little process called "sanding" after all this shit has dried. Please tell me you knew that.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif I'm not trying to be a dick, but don't post shit like that if you don't even know what you're talking about.

i guess ten years of auto body refinishing and painting means i dont know shit, those look like *** and, dont post up pics of shit if you cant take a little constuctive critisism,(SP?)

Hrrrmmm....

The stretch job is what really hurt you. You should have used a bit stronger material and secured it properly with staples or CA glue. I would have used fleece or at least a t-shirt type of cloth.

yes but had the stretch job been better you would not have required that much bondo thus m making your life much easier and likely your finished product better looking
