Car audio in my room..

i tried doing this once.. it didnt work out for me though..
looks awesome though!
What didn't work out?

Once I get the amps i need, and the boxes all built, I'm gonna buy 3 sunbeam psu's and wire them in series. Which should theoretically have a final output of 36 Amps @ 15v. If more power is needed, I'll just save room for a little HC600 or so, and use that as the main hub, charged by the PSUs.

how many volts do those power supplies do a piece?if they do any more than five or six volts a piece and you want to wire their outputs in series you might want to rethink your setup.I'd hate to see you smoke your equipment.

I had like a 400w psu pushing a 150w amp/sub combo but the sub put out almost no sound.

I dont think i had a big enough psu.

Dmm reads 11.89v, and with the gains set, i can get average of ~70ish per side out of my old pioneer amp and a 200w psu... It's been going like that for a while with the speakers on the floor. I have them in the box and they sound amazing.

They play down to 40hz with authority, it would be a lot better if i had about 160w per side though haha... each box is ~.2cubes stuffed with poly. I'll post some pics of in a lil while of them.

Heres an update with the speakers in. I'm gonna get some dowel rods and make legs for them, probably 2 feet tall.

How are you going to turn on/off the sound system?
As of now, just plug and unplug the psu, when i build a rack for the amps and psu's, im just going to put a switch in the psu's turn on (the green wire). I'll mount it to the outside and put both psu's on the same switch, so everything will come on and off at the same time.
