Car audio in my room..

Not really a "build log" but more of a little project im doing for my room. I love my RE coax, but they've been sitting on my floor for months.. so i decided to make a little stereo for my room to watch movies with and listen to music. It's cheap, and nothing fancy, but its fun.

I'm getting two little ED 8's from Skip01, they'll be in 2 cubes, tuned to 28, down firing in the box below. I'll most likely run them with an orion hcca-d600, around 225 @ 2ohms. For now, I'll have each tower with 2 re 6.5s getting 80 a side. I have an older computer with an ok video card, and i'll just upgrade the HD and make a little media center for my room. my 19" viewsonic will be the main "tv/monitor/xbox display/etc.".

I'll do the sub build whenever the subs get here. For now, heres some pics of whats going on.

Paints still setting up, so nothings installed.

Testing everything out.

Thoughts? Comments? What'cha think?

I've always wanted to do this... What's the box you got connected to the amp? I guess thats who you get the amp to power on/off? More info would be awesome!

A cheap little computer power supply. It puts out 12A @ 12v, so it works for low ammouts of power.

Pretty cool, I used to have a set up close to what you have, I used a small 40 amp Pyramid 12v powersupply.

A plate amp, not that you'd ever need 1k in a house

Lol 1k in a house? I think for me 250 will me more then enough. You would need a plate amp, or use a PA amp...

Not necessarily. I've got a 6 channel that does 240 a channel..

I have a desk to the left, where i have my laptop and do my work. I would just get a wireless mouse and keyboard, and remote and just use it to watch movies/music/and xbox occasionally. So I don't actually sit at it, its only 18" high to begin with haha.

Sell it and buy a HT setup.
