Nice thread. Been reading along. I'm working on some 8" JBL's in my kick panels for mid-bass. It's been mentioned that its hard to get proper air space down there. My car is a 1966 Buick, so I have floor vents where my kick panels are (old school air conditioning. I'll be utilizing this space for my 8's to breath. Have to seal up the inside of the vent with fiberglass/spray foam, but I'm hoping to get some real 'kick' outta them with roughly 350 watts each!

Let them vent. That's true IB and really nice to have.

Yes, definitely won't seal up the whole area. Just sealing up the seams and sidewalls/adding strength. They'll have a vent still (out the big ol' rock solid fender) and a large enough space to really go to town. I have my rings in place but working to install my front roll bar before I can get them glassed in. Downfalls of doing a whole car at the same time...slow, slow, slow...definitely don't want my father welding overtop my woofers...
