Featured 2014 Toyota Camry how to run 8 gauge amp wire through the firewall?

Has anyone had experience running an amp power wire (8 gauge in my case) through the firewall to the trunk in a 2014 Toyota Camry 4 cylinder?

This will be to install a powered 8" sub from Crutchfield. It should be arriving today, just trying to do my homework ahead of time. I've installed stereos, speakers, amps etc. in the past, my largest concern is the routing of the main power wire, as the area to work is very tight and don't want to damage any factory wires, etc.

Many of those cars have an manual transmission option. Try looking on the driver's side where the clutch would be. There should be a wide-open area to punch a hole. I would recommend taking it to a stereo shop and pay them $20 to punch the hole and install a grommet.

Yes it may prove worth it to pay them to make the hole. I'll be able to see more when I have time to pull the air intake stuff out of the way. Been about 30 years since I put an amp in a car, back then you had way more room to work and there were free grommets with nothing run through them on many vehicles.

I have seen on YouTube someone route an amp wire through a rubber grommet that looks quite similar to this one on the passenger side of my car. They cut the end off of one of those little nipples and fed the wire through the opening.

FYI that spot worked. Didn't even have to remove the glove box, only the side panel and bottom panel to access it on the inside the cab.
