Camry kicks and tweeter waveguide

And what exactly is wrong with expanding to an external dsp? The C-dsp is for the money the best around and it has 6 bands of parametric per channel. so 96 bands all together.
Don't get me wrong.. I would love to expand to external DSP but this is for my beater car that I drive around everyday. I wanted to keep this project as budget friendly as possible but lately I haven't been happy with my front stage so I've been weighing out all my options. I didn't intentionally want to go all out because I've already invested so much into my other car but I haven't even installed any of it yet. Been too busy and I don't have the funds to finish it at the moment. I didn't even think I would ever put a system in my beater car but now I've already gotten pretty deep into it that I just wanna have some fun with it. I'm thinking of just keeping the 80prs as it is bc honestly it's still a great hu and does what it's intended. I'm actually going to try entirely new speakers up front and getting a more powerful 4 ch amp for more loudness and clarity.

I mean if you're unhappy its either go all out or stay with basics.

Smooth fiberglass enclosures:

spandex/thin stretch fabric for basic shape

resin/mat laid on smooth as possible

scuff with 40 grit and dig out any bubbles/air pockets

fill with chop mat/bondo glass and scuff with 40 grit

lightweight body filler, sand with 80 grit, repeat if necessary

milkshake - sand with 80 grit Research if you're not familiar with this technique

That gets you ready for vinyl or any fabric, painting would need a few coats of primer

x2 on fleece being crap, it wrinkles easy and adds ZERO strength, no matter how much resin you soak it with. The mat/cloth reaction with resin is what gives any FG project strength...

Running into a very big issue with wire placement. Friggin wires are in the middle of the enclosure and there would need to be serious rewiring to give it length enough to be outta the way

Butyl base as a decoupler. And beginnings. Im not 100% if i can actually do pods well. This is just the easy part but ima still try.

Plans have changed tho. This'll be pods for a 6.5 dedicated midrange then 8s in the kicks that are vented outside

Is that a pedal just above the drivers side woofer?
yea its the E-Brake. Itll have to be cut and shortened to fit but thats no biggie.

you going 4 way now?
Ive been 4 way for a long time, im just moving up in the driver size department.

Current is midbass- door,

midrange-kicks,

tweet- dash waveguide

moving to

Sls 10s in kicks

6.5 Satori dedicated midrange in sealed pods built into the door.

tweets in waveguide in dash.

Nice thread. Been reading along. I'm working on some 8" JBL's in my kick panels for mid-bass. It's been mentioned that its hard to get proper air space down there. My car is a 1966 Buick, so I have floor vents where my kick panels are (old school air conditioning. I'll be utilizing this space for my 8's to breath. Have to seal up the inside of the vent with fiberglass/spray foam, but I'm hoping to get some real 'kick' outta them with roughly 350 watts each!
