This is my first "real" box I have built other than the Frankenstein ones when I was younger.

I am using the plans that JL recommends.

22"L X 12"H X 10 3/4"W with a 1 1/4" port.

I know I wasn’t supposed to use particle board but I had it left over from something else. I wanted to save on weight so I chose 1/2" and I am going use resin on the inside of the box.

Question:

Will one layer of resin be good?

Will it matter if I don’t resin the port area?

I made a jig and used a router.

I though since it was a small box I wouldn't need to. Where should I brace it?

Alright, you have convinced me to remake it with 3/4" MDF.

I think I will glue the top on this box and see if I can blow it up.

Please for the love of god do not put the 6v2 in there. It will not do it justice. A note, the JL recomended ported enclosure has port noise. The port surface area is to small. Just a little FYI.
