OK....got a few extra bucks to build a new SQ system. Take a look at my sig and decide what goes and what stays. What goes will need a replacement and I'm sure extra / new equipement may be required.

I'd like to use the HERTZ 165's and the 880PRS as these seem like nice pieces of equipment so far. I like it loud at times while remaining clean and clear. I was leaning towards (maybe) Mcintosh amps? For the sound quality I'd more than likely go active. Use the active within the 880? You get the idea.

Everything goes into a 2005 Dodge 1500 4X4 Quad Cab.

I'd like to start this new build with a budget of something like.........$4,500.

Clarion DRZ9255

Hybrid Audio Legatia 3-way system

IDMax subs

Zapco or Audison amps

Rest of $$ on installion. It's all about the install.

You would be much better off spending that money on the speakers than an 'sq' amp. Not saying the amps aren't top notch but they're generally not the weak link. Just get a solid amp that puts out rated power.

I agree spending more $$ on speakers, look around madisound.com for some seas high end diy speakers, should be nice.
Thats a good option. He can also look in the classifieds section. As well he could spend the extra money on a set of MLK's, rainbows, dyn's, etc. Plenty of options.

With this new system being in a Dodge truck I'm sure there will be challenges for the install. ie..kicks could be out of the question due to the emergency brake. (I'm an avid fan of using this since I've seen countless cars and trucks roll down my hill in front of the house...LOL) Amps have little room with the rear seats. (I'd like to keep these) 8's in the doors? How to get good SQ bass under the rear seats? The list could be long.

I'm gonna be following this thread as I want to go in the same direction with my truck. I really do think install is going to be the biggest issue. I was thinking earlier about instead of the typical kicks if you could make like inside kicks, over the ****** tunnel in the middle of the truck instead of the outside?

Can you lift your rear seat to get more room underneath it for subs? Do you know the mounting depth you can work with?(I think this will be the biggest killer for a truck setup)
