Steg is a safe bet for SQ? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif
Why would he buy from an Australian distributor? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif Why would he go all the way to an Australian dealer, just to buy... Steg? It defies logic in every way. You are a fool and a noob, based upon the comments and questions raised by you here previously, why should he or any of us believe your sales pitch? Why do you feel you have the right to try and sell your snake oil flea market junk on this board? At least find an Australian based board to spam you nit wit.

You are a noob, you sell junk, and you dont even sell it worth a ****. Im hoping for your sake that this is a low point in your life.

well to be fair...the MSK's are prolly one of if not the finest car audio amp ever made...but I agree with everything else you say..... any shop who deals focal can get Steg here in the states

Source unit- say alpine w205 or 9887, with h701 combo (controller too), Denon unit,

Speakers - some dyna's, hybrid legatias, or do a diy project using scan-speak drivers with your preference of tweeter. Or some sea excel's.

amps - id agree with what was previoussly mentioned. they dont ahve same effect as better speakers or subs would. just buy solid amps and your set.

subs - idk what ur looking for, but id suggest idq's and idmax's ib or sealed, peerless xls, arc flatlines, Si mag, maybe rl-i 8's if u wanted small setup. another good option even though they are main stream are jl w6's sound amazing

Wiring - Kicker wire + Streetwires wiring assessories + Ixos cables

Deadening - Second Skin Audio damp pro

Well, if space is tight, you could just run subless. This requires a good use of door space though. You can use the P880PRS in a 3-way front stage. The only limitation is the max 200Hz lowpass for the sub out. This forces your midrange to get down to 200Hz, so you're looking at larger mids from 4" to 6" depending on what you can fit and the desired output level.

I wouldn't get stuck on amps. They are a tiny part of the end product. All you need is power, reguardless of who's name in on the cover.

You're probably looking at an 8" midbass to get decently low. You might even consider true subwoofers at this point as well. It depends on available space and power. You pair it up to a largish midwoofer at 200Hz and run the midwoofer up to the tweeter at 2-3kHz. Actual speaker choice will come down to what flavor of sound you like(smooth, crisp, warm, neutral, bright, etc.).

Welp we got this started. Lots of suggestions for equipment. Specific models would help in this deal. I've kinda set the limits for my spending to $4,500 and I don't really want to spend a bulk of that on a set of speakers. ie...rare and prized $3,000 comps. This money is for the equipment only. The install will be funded separately. I have more tools than Home Depot. Skills to do the work and contacts when I need help.

Would it be a wise choice to ditch the HERTZ HSK165's for something else? Rate the Memphis amps and should I ditch these also? Maybe pass this stuff down to my son for his first ride next Febuary?

that is mooooore than enough.

That'll build a few good systems, lol. You shouldn't spend more than half that.

The main question before you start picking out hardware is are you willing to do custom fabrication(fiberglass)? If so, then you're not all that bound to certain speaker sizes, stock locations, etc. If you don't want to do anything more custom than cutting out a baffle, then you've got to work within those limitations.

Since you've got *** loads of cash buring a hole in your pocket, I figure custom fabrication isn't a big deal. Heck, you have enough money there to pay someone to do it too(although say bye bye to a couple grand).

Would you mind fabricating subwoofers in your front doors? I'm talking up to say 12"s.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif Seriously, it's an option. You sort of have to figure out how big you want to go. A good 8" should get you very close to where you want to go.

You could even consider dual midbass setups, run dual 7" or 8" woofers and play them up to a couple hundred Hz before a large mid.

Now I'm focusing on the midbass region because this will be your greatest decision and compromise. The mid and tweeter choices get a lot easier. Just remember all of this will take up space, so you need to figure out what is really needed to both cover the frequency range and give the desired amount of output. SPL will depend on cone area and excursion.

We can provide suggestions till you tell us what kind of sound you're looking for. You want something crisp, smooth, bright, warm, neutral, accurate, what?
