right now the car is all factory, I honestly dont want all the hassle of an amp and im not trying to win any boom boom competitions, I just want nice clean sound that I can feel a bit, it has tweeters up near the corner of the doors and 6.5's in the doors. I dont know if i should just get coax speakers or cheap components to replace the paper factory ones?

I already have this head unit ready to install Pioneer DEH-P5900MP i think it does about 20 rms per channel, I'll probably keep the factory rear speakers just for fill.

any advice is great, thank you

I've worked on a 97 civic before and I don't remember it fitting 6.5"s in the doors. but I guess with some creativity you can get 6.5s in there.

the speaker mount onto the door panel and not the doors itself correct?

also, an iDQ 15 sealed sounds pretty sweet in the trunk of that civic.

ok, thats what i thought ... but are theyre any decent 100 dollar components that dont require an amp to sound good? and does anybody know what size tweeter i need? I just want it to fit without screwin it up.

i had oversized 6.5" comps in the doors of my 97 coupe, factory grilles and all. just gotta do a bit of trimming. i suggest you do an upfiring spare tire well sealed box, i cleaned up the flaws in the install but this was when i first did it (first box ever)

1" tweets will fit in the factory location with a little dremeling, look into alpine type r components, they're around $140 online now i believe.

calbert04 what do you mean a little dremling? am i going to have to cut or modify that factory holder that is already in the car near the window for the tweets? or am i better off with a 3/4 tweet?

if i buy component speakers that come with a crossover, do i just install the speakers with no crossover? or is there one in the car i need to replace or just use that one? because i am going to connect the tweeter to the wires from the old tweeter, and same for the woofer, but what about the crossover?.. sorry im a dumb girl
