You would be much better off spending that money on the speakers than an 'sq' amp. Not saying the amps aren't top notch but they're generally not the weak link. Just get a solid amp that puts out rated power.

Ditto. Amps don't color the sound, they only amplify it. As long as you're not clipping the amp to get the desired volume, the amp shouldn't be a factor. Speakers and HU's have much more to do with SQ.

OK...soI have a set of Hertz HSK165's and a 880PRS HU. Keep these or something different? Ditch the amps or hold onto them? I know I really should opt out of the 12" subs and scale back to something smaller for the space I have. I'm wondering how much deadener and what type should I choose to (maybe) slide a set of 8's in the rear doors? Still thinking tons here.
