wouldn't this placement of tweeters be more ideal than tweeter pods in the A-pillars or in the kicks? or is this placement way off-axis?

Off axis is referring to how the tweeter is aimed relative to the listening position.

That position may cause some weird staging effects due to the tweeter being so far from the woofer and I really doubt imaging would be decent. They may also get pretty bright reflecting off of the dash and windshield.

i get the best results when they are facing me,,not like that tho but on the stock speaker nets on the left and right....when they are too close cant get the stage i need..always smthg missing...maybe its just me...

i was thinking of mounting them like this but closer to the A-pillars on each side. not so close to each other and not so centered.

well try it first..with some powertape or smthg and drive like that 4 a couple of dyas...not the best aesthetical solution ever but it will give u the best results in the end

i was planning on doing that but was asking because this way looks a bit more interesting than the A-pillar mounting everyone seems to go with. and easier than messing with fiberglass. maybe there was a reason for NOT doing it this way.

i wouldn't be putting them that close to the center. 6" off the A-pillar at most.
