its been a long time since i updated this but im working on a fiberglass box for my RE SXs. wanted to see what you all thought.

only about half of the 1st layer of glass done here.

and a random one.

im up to my second layer of glass now. this is going to take a while. this is my 1st time fiberglassing anything.

how do you measure volume and know what size to make the port, esp since you had it made without any cloth on it

its not exact. i just calculated for a wedge type box. then i made the subs sit higher to add a little more space to make up for the curve of the cloth. it should come out pretty even. ill admit itll be more for looks but i did make it to good specs so it should do well.

i have to hold off my 3rd layer cause its been raining.

looks good man... i'm thinking of doing some glassing for my hertz tweets, maybe we can check it out this weekend... also we'll get the bondo dialed in man...

i dont think itll be bondo time for a while. i still have 4-7 layers of glass to put on. i wanted to do 10 layers but i think ill be stoping at 5-7. this crap takes a long time. and costs a lot. but a little tweeter pod? shoot we can do that with my leftovers easy.

I figured you pretty much took an educated guess, when its done you could fill it with peanuts or something and that would be pretty close, maybe should have used aeroports so after you figured the volume closer you could adjust the ports. Looks really nice though.

aeroports were my 1st idea but i went with a regular port for some reason. didnt want to deal with cutting more little rings and figuring out how to support them while i glassed.

hope it looks good when im done. found out my buddy here is good with bondo and paint, a skill i dont have. so i have some hope of this looking nice.
