Alex's Silverado

sounds good, im willing to back out at any time if he needs it sooner.
any link to what the specs for it are? i assume it works for any GM alternator but I have 2 wire alts (L and B+ post)
Google it and you can find a video, use a relay, strong +12 switched to RUN from the ignition, solid ground and field wire runs out to the alternator field.

You MUST have solid +12 and ground into it or it'll behave badly.

Alex sends me 70$, I ship it to wew_lad who pays for shipping to Alex, provided both of you are cool with that and Alex can wait til you do your testing.
Mine has excessive amperage label on it but it's the same unit
I paid $80 for the last one someone had in stock new on ebay, but now the cheapest one I can find new is $100. Can you PM me some pics real quick before I send money though?

Also, if we could all get feedback from the deal, that would be great too. I know I've already got 20 positive here, but it never hurts to get more.

PM me your phone # and I'll send them by phone tomorrow.

you going to go for something that slams now? just go ahead and do 3 18s. 3 team 18s should do nicely..
I have 4 7k amps, so I wouldn't run three subs.

I will be running the Wardens (or some of the Soundrive subs if they don't sell) until I can afford new subs. Then I would really like to try 8 of the Fi Team v2 12's or 8 Stereo integrity HST 12's in a flat ported wall.

OK so what you have 4 7ks? with 3 7ks your going to get more stable voltage and alot less current consumption. one per team 18 would be PERFECT. get dual 1.9s and run them parallel. with just one 18 and 7k walled i know you can manage 151 on music. so 3 you should manage 154-5. that is with a musical tune(like 32hz) i know you love the low-end but your cabin gain ***** around 32hz. getting excellent low=end is going to require you to get as many leaks losses out of the cabin as possible and use a larger box and port area. 9 cube per with 110in^2 of port area is a great start..

don't try to shove as much cone area in as possible build the box then find the drivers that suit your needs.. im pretty sue 3 18s with a good separation between the port and woofers while help phase and you can fiddle with loading the port and drivers to help you. 4 15s wouldn't be a bad idea as well. 4 teams would kick *** but i think the 3 15s here are a better option.

With Over 1,000 amps of alternator current available (at 16v) and a substantial capacitor bank, I will not be hurting for electrical. I can and will run all 4 7k's.

I decided to go with 8 12's eventually, because I am not going to try and fit as much cone area as I've had in the past. If the Stereo Integrity 12's are anything like Sundown Z4's, they only need 1.5 cubes each net. That's 12 cubes net ported, and with a common chamber, they'd require even less. I will have plenty of space for them, and can always shrink the enclosure by adding more and more layers of wood, as well as bracing. I want to tune lowwww with a good bandwidth. I want to play the hills by the weekend slowed, like I could do with my DD Z's.

Don't do this, do that lol
larger drivers naturally have better sensitivity down low because of the increase in vas and mms. the other dickweed i recommend 12s to would have been better off with the 12s knowing this dickweed i think 3 18s of even 4 15s would suit him better..

not that i WANT HIM TO RUN THEM but because they are more ideal.

1000x16= 16000 then voltage drops. if you don't have enough constant supply the caps will discharge and become a burden. the batteries will only discharge once the resistance is higher than there ESR. in this situation Id recommend you get some lithium batteries. unless you have a capbank capable of discharging 16K for 2 minutes i wouldn't even bother.
