Alex's Silverado

All the wood pieces of the enclosure are cut, glued, and screwed.
Tomorrow, I hope to add the last couple more steel pipes that will brace the baffle with the back wall, then resin everything.

Box came out to be about 32 cubes net tuned to 30-ish after all the 2x4's and bracing

Still working with the same 50 2X4's or have you bought more? Since you have the volume to spare, why not add layers to the top and bottom?

I still have 12 2x4's and a sheet of 3/4" 4'x8' birch left. I only used 38 out of the 50 2x4's, surprisingly.

I was thinking about adding another layer to the top. The bottom is hard as shit, because all the resin drips down the walls and collects there

Ever feel a fiberglass canoe? You have to build that stuff really thick before it's really adding rigidity. You have the materials and space, why not reinforce everything?

I have felt a fiberglass kayak. There's about 1/4 inch of resin on the bottom. I think that's pretty thick. I might add another layer to the top

Fiberglass matt is cheap as ****. I would throw down a couple layers to help strengthen it up. The resin gets hard but at the sane tune it's brittle as ****. I had some on my garage floor that flaked up and broke to pieces rather easy.

Sorry, pics aren't fantastic and I haven't shot a video yet.

Pictures don't really show how big this is, lol

Not super pretty, so I'm thinking about making a beauty panel inside the bed

I installed the diode for my alternator today and it didn't change my voltage at all. Even with the system off and batteries charged, it sits at 13.6-13.7v. Doesn't mater if it's warm or cold. I can't figure out why that is. Hep would be appreciated

Also, I'll be adding length to my port tomorrow. It's really loud in the high 30's, but has no lows, haha

What's it supposed to be tuned at right now?
30 is what it's supposed to be tuned to, but it could be a little higher. I'll do some real world testing by changing the port up and see what sounds best to me.

Right now, decaf is seriously lacking, lol. I'll try and tune it down in the 20's like my last build.

I had originally wanted to shoot for 25hz tuning, but other people persuaded me to tune higher, since it "should" still play low with authority.

Who knows, could have turned out really peaky by accident

How does it compare to the Zs so far?
Less lows (because of the enclosure).

Sounds exactly like my last setup before I figured out the gain ratio problem.

On this though, I've got my sub level on +15 out of 15 and the amp gain is about 2/3. Listening volume is at about 25 out of 35 for most songs.

"The other Side" by Jason Derulo on volume 28 is brutal. I can't take the whole song in the driver's seat with the passenger window down. Lows are lacking, but it's strong up top.

I'll sacrifice some upper bass for lows tomorrow and add some port length

Yeah nothing never works perfect the first time.
