Like the title says im deciding between 4 infnity refernce 12's which i can get new for 200 or a single SI mag 12 for 450. For the money saved over the Mag i can get a new 4 channel infinity amp putting out 111rmsx4 at 4ohm but im just wondering which would sound better, 4ref 12's sealed or a SI mag ported?

infinity i found to be good when new but after long term use the quality of them goes down and they dont perform aswell do to the ware and tear.... i would go with the mag

I have space for small ported box for the 4 12's. im looking foward to SQ a little more then spl but i still want to be heard from blocks away. A minumum im looking foward to is out bumping my friends 01 taurus with a 12" memphis mojo and 1100rms amp..so infinity is a no go? im getting any infinity product cost price thats why i can get them so low

You've heard 4 infnity reference 12' subs in one car?
sorry, I meant I heard both subs. Used to have 2 infinity ref's //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

I had 2 12inch ref's, and they kicked. But when I wired them to a 750w rms amp they blew.. so.... I got 2 12inch kappas and loved them for the time I had them. LOVED them. I recommend them. They're not the loudest sub out there, but the quality of them are AWESOME!

of course the mags will rape the infinity. but this is not even a comparison. he's talking 4 12s here. wont the 4 12s get really low now?

The extra surface area will help the Infiniti's delve a little lower than it would with just one Infiniti driver due to the coupling affect. If he's after pure low end extension with total disregard towards musical fidelity there are other alternatives besides four Infiniti drivers (like 4-8 Dayton Titanics ported, etc.) If he's looking forward to playing music through his subwoofers a Mag is hard to beat. ...just keep your eyes peeled for the test results of the Great 12" Challenge. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

No problem. The Dayton ultimax is one of the better sounding sealed subs I’ve heard. I kinda want to try the 18 in my ride.
