1 Sub vs 2 Subs

I got them all off PE.
So 1.5^3 between 28-32hz would give the best output for a ported box for the 12" right?

I'm just going to run with a 12" in case in the future I decide to add another 12".
I think you will be very happy going this route.Very smart choice being made here, and getting your moneys worth. I think everyone has given great opinions in this thread.IMO

Im running 3 different brands of amps in my truck, and two for the crv.Looks arent important to me as much as performance.I choose the amp for the speaker, and for the money.American Bass has a 2 ch that will perform nicely as well, for the money.I have a VFL 150.4 mini Hybrid from American Bass as well, that sounds very nice for the size and money,if worried of matching amps, and performance.Great amps, and amazing sound/performance for the money.
Can you link me to the 2 channel one please?

Yeah 1.5 in that area of tuning. For power a clean 500 watts is fine, you can go higher, you'll just have to be careful with your gains as you approach the 1000 watt mark as a amp that powerful could potentially lead to trouble, however so could a 500 watter, it's all in how you set the gains. If you can wire the sub at 2ohms, find an amp that is stable at one ohm. Somewhere around 1400 watts at 1ohm and 700@2ohms. That way, when you get a second sub you can wire down to 1 ohm and already have enough power at both.
Alright, I'll look for a 500W amp than, rather be safe than sorry. If I do upgrade in the future I'll buy a whole new amp. Is there any specific way to set gains? Any guides, suggestions, etc?

I agree, and thanks to everyone for the suggestions. I'll make a note of the box size and tuning. Would you still recommend a aero slot?

Don't be afraid to go up to 2 cube for that Dayton. I like the looks of that tuning @ 2 cube.

What are the consequences of not doing the ELD? 4 hours, and messing with all those wires seems like a lot. I trust my friend to do it, but it seems like a lot.
I'm probably doing the Big 3, if that's relevant at all.
having your system cut in and out is really annoying, and not good on the amps or speakers thus far.Its really pretty easy to do,and is worth it by far,so is the Big three, but the big3 doesnt do anything for this eld annoyance.

New American Bass SQ600 600 Watt 2 Channel Car Amplifier with Built in Crossover | eBayI would get with Jim from Wright Audio on the Vendors list,to make sure you get the full warranty from the manufacture on AB.
If my component speakers are putting out 160W each, wouldn't 600 be too much?

More output and better low extension. Go with 2 cube and look for a GOOD QUALITY 500-600W amp.
Alright, 2 cubes it is.

I'll pass it on to my friend and see if he can do it. Thanks.

I'm still pretty lost on the amp.

For my subs, I should look for a good 500-600W amp. AB is good, MB Quart is good, and PPI is good.

For my pair of component speakers would a 400W amp work, or should I look for a 300W? The speakers are JBL MS-62C.

The specs on the SQ600 is 60x2@4ohms,and 100x2@2ohms,.600 is the Max this amp will perform @peak total, more than likely at a burp,.LOL,
So the AM is a good amp to run for my components?

I just noticed you're in Rockwall, I'm right by Dallas. Do you happen to build boxes? If you do, send me a PM please.

The SQ900 might be a better choice on those speakers if you want to keep the same look.American Bass amps are very good amps.Worth your money.I dont build boxes anymore,or repair amps.I still do some installs, and do my own.You can have a spec built box from a builder on this forum shipped, better than any prefabbed enclosure on the market, and money well spent,or try building your own with a designed box from a builder like Buck with High Output Enclosures with a cut sheet from the vendors list.I am pretty local to you then.Car audio is one of my hobbies since 87.I may be able to help you out on the install if needed.

I'm having a friend do all my installs for me, but how much would you charge for the ELD thing?

I'm confused again, so the 900 is better for the subs? Wouldn't the 600 be better since I really only need 320W?
