Featured Newbie Seeking Help with Audio Configuration

Actually let me take a pic and share to better help figure this out my bad lol
@supernov4 so I attempted again with the stupid multi meter I have and either it is a shitty one and I have to buy another one but the numbers were just jumping around and there isn’t a set number I can give you. Not sure why this is become so complex like actually. Merry Christmas Eve ho ho ho maybe Santa will surprise me and I wake up tmrw and it’s working. I purchased a kicker solo baric sub as well, so let’s connect that and work with the settings I need to adjust etc for that?? Il figure out what to do with the sundown and that box later but could not be bothered right now 😵‍💫 it should be straight forward right just connect positive and negative to the box terminals but the settings you advised to change previously on the amp etc will need to be updated?

Here are the specs straight out of the box FYI -

Lol if the numbers were jumping around on the multimeter it's usually an indication the woofer is shot
Clippity clippers
Either way since you got another woofer
We will work with that

First always check ohm load at the terminal on the box to cover that base
And be certain
Should read 2 ohm give or take 0.1 or 0.2
So like 1.9 or 2.2 etc

Then yes follow my previous instruction
With pic where I circled the rcas
You will bypass the prv at least for now
You will also lower the knob labeled gain on the mono amp to zero
And you will use the bass output level on the lc2 as your gain

For quick easy set up just turn the lc2 bass output level all the way down
Go to head unit
Play music loud but to where it still sound good then slowly raise the lc2 bass output level to bring the woofer in
To where it sounds balanced with the rest of system

Try to keep an eye on the maximize light on lc2 and the little red light labeled "clip" on the amp
Of one of those lights up ur in danger territory

LOL nice - so for future in case I have to use this delinquent multimeter what is the correct setting? I am pretty sure the sub should not be shot the meter is prob not even on the correct setting which should be set to 0 Ohms to start and as you can see there is no corresponding spot on the dial! although if it is RIP the thing was annoying the shit out of me anyways lol - lets see hopefully Mr Kicker Baric will come thru. Thanks for walking me through this setup, will get there soon :/

Perfect! So the following LC2 to confirm should be set at what exact settings IE - LOAD/TRIGGER/GROUND

If you were getting signal with no buzzing the switches on the left were fine as they were
If you hear buzzing or alternator whine
You can play with your ground switch

The accubass is a feature you can use
If the bass stops getting louder as ur raising volume
If your headunit doesn't cap the bass at louder volumes it can be used as a bass boost if you want
But for initial set up you can leave them both turned down
I linked the video from 5star it's a good explanation

The bass output level you will find the set level as you follow my instructions
Starting low and raising while listening

Also if the sub is in your trunk if the woofer is facing forward spin it around to face the back of car
In most cases that will sound better and louder
But that will be trial and error which ever way you like best

Noted! I am going to the dungeon now and will update you momentarily - I am going to be so happy once this actually is setup I can actually drive my car again LOL

It's not delinquent 😂 it did it's job and told you the issue
On the section with ohm symbol just put it on 200
I am calling everything in front of me in sight "Deliquent" LOL my wife is like stop! She don't understand the drama I have created. She knows I have had 100's of setups back in the day, when everything was simple lol

@supernov4 Ok so the reading looks proper on the kicker! When I did attempt to measure the sundown it was all over the place (I might open the box and test it later for what it is anyways - wondering if they actually sent me a defective sub, I hardly heard any bass just hard treble lol)

Ok back to the kicker I am just about to power it up to test everything, before that can you advise what setting I should play around with to correct the MID's which I had issue with previously "they hit hard and almost give a popping like sound and sound very mono tone like ear piercing annoyingly sharp if that makes sense" hopefully they are not blown as well LOL have a nice collection of blown toys

Yes I noticed a few things on the prv mid section will need to go through it
Just didn't want to overwhelm you with too much info

Those could be clipping to and your crossovers don't seem correct just have to ask some questions/test first

In the mean time just lower the gain/level on the mid section on prv a bit just a notch or 2 to be a bit safe
