Setting amp to the proper settings

What’s up guys? So today I am looking for some help on how to properly set my amp. I’ve never “tuned” an amp so I don’t know what to set the LPF to. I know to leave the bass boost at zero, the other thing on my amp is that there is no “gain” setting. So I imagine the input sensitivity is the gain, right?

Amp: Kenwood KAC-511
Sub: Jbl gx1200
Headunit: Deh-11E
Speakers: Kenwood road series 6.5 inch

Yes, the input sensitivity is your gain. I have my LPF set at 60 hz because I only like low end bass, but a good place to start is 80. You can always adjust it to see what you like the most. I’d also turn the Infrasonic Filter on.

The low pass filter should be set at where your door speakers can’t go any lower, or cause rattles in the door panel. I like mine at around 80, but if the door speaker rattles i would do my HPF on my speaker amp at a higher HZ and raise my sub amp LPF respectively. In my work truck, I have my LPF at 100 and my high pass filter on 100 also. If I set my HPF at 80, the bass going through the speakers causes too much rattling in the door panel (partly because i have tools and junk in my door panel storage). If you don’t have a HPF for your door speakers, not much of what I just said matters.

Thank you for the info. The one thing is that I don’t have an HPF. The lpf basically protects the sub from going lower than whatever you set it, correct?
The only time you would go really low is if the box you have the sub in is tuned to a certain frequency?

What does the infrasonic filter do?

It “slopes” the super low notes to protect your sub and extend its life.
