Winisd help?

Thanks... I had to sleep at some point... OK... I changed the option I missed and managed a complete screenshot then came up with this...

I was driving my self crazy at first until I realized it was only for 1 driver... I was thinking it was 2... anyways as I started to get closer I was seeing a slight bump at tuning but saw no REAL low frequency extension... Then I remembered the these older CV Strokers only went so low and were peaky at tuning anyways... but I'm sure that a better curve is easily attainable... I had 2 15's in 8 ft3 net with about 90 in2 tuned to 36hz in 1997 and it sounded smooth and went lower than anyone I met... but this WAS 1997... I guess it is all subjective... I did try to EQ the darned thing with an RTA but went by ear after all as it sounded terrible. OK... this is the rear port velocity graph...

What am I looking at exactly?

so the gist of the rear air velocity is to be under 30 meters per second. In the options your range only goes up to 18... you arent gonna read anything like that. Go back to my options and copy it properly.

You'll have to go to the input power and enter in a number and see how that changes air velocity along with your port figures.

Okay... I tried to enter a Sundown X-12 D2 as I am interested in getting a pair next year... as I entered the parameters I noticed that it did not auto-calculate the Fs after entering the Mms and Cms like it should... I entered this field and it took but came up with a division by zero error message but it did accept it... however when opening a project the default type it opened appears to be a 4th... I chose vented... if it does this ... what alignment should I choose?

and I am getting an incessant access code violation message that I can close but appears as quickly as I close it!... so I am stuck... AGAIN!.. again I am sorry to be asking all these questions but I am just trying to find the correct questions to ask!.. I'd like to enter THIS driver and I've tried multiple times with no luck... LOL!

uhm i think you are entering stuff wrong still...

I enter QES then QMS, tab let it auto cacl qts, enter in fs, tab, enter in VAS, tab, enter in mms, tab

I agree with you on the Stroker and my screwing up the data when entering it...LOL!... it seems that any other driver I've entered works just fine... I do have a few questions however... What does the end correction in the vents tab mean?.. also there are fields in the input tab other than power... do these have any real bearing on a basic box?..

I've figured out the rear port velocity and how power input affects it... but how do I tell when it is too much port area... I don't want to design something that allows a woofer to bottom out easily... also... there was some question about my interpretation of the vent length in this box... http://i.imgur.com/ULRvo3C.jpg ... what do you come up with for length?.. again thanks for all the help!.. I am now reasonably comfortable with Winisd... not ready to design a box with it yet but at least NOW I can explore it further and learn.

22 to 30 meters per second is a good area to shoot for. the end corrections is flares or kerfs or aeros.

Thanks for the online tutorial...LOL!.. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/graduate.gif.d982460be9f153bb54e5d4cb744f6ae8.gif.. All your patient help is very much appreciated... I will not try to give advice on boxes in this forum for awhile... LOL!.. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/blush.gif.99bc659ee2012b7d826165e26fb5eebe.gif... this has shown me how little I really DO know... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/hilarious.gif.02a037aad04aa96f19982b298a3d70a8.gif... I'll leave THAT to the experts.

I'm not ready to design using Aeros... but is there an arbitrary number to use... or is it specific to the port radius or type of Aero?.. and if it is... how do I determine this value.

This is the factory recommended specs from Skar for the EVL 12's and I was having stinky coils in this box...

Is this what port compression looks like?
