Thread inserts for sub mounting

The one on the left will hold even if you use a 12" torque wrench .

The one on the right will pull out of the wood if you just look at them crosseyed.

 
Lots of people use T-nuts, but there are a few other options.
I personally just mount my subs with regular screws :shrug:
This. Last few sub installs I've used spike t-nuts and matching hex/allenhead bolts. Works wonders.
