i am an amature at this and have recently started doing up my 1st car a 1976 mini clubman. i have stared putting stereo components in ( not the best ones on mi budget ) an i am hoping to put in a new subwoofer. i would like to put it in the boot of mi car as there is not much room anywere else only problem is my boot is made of steel sheet. I would like to know if the sub will sound allright throgh the steel or if i need 2 cut the metal out????

If it is all metal with no passage ways of any sort then yes, the more metal you move the more sound will get through. You can get a good metal drill bit and start putting holes in it but be careful not to reduce the strenght of the structure.

Do you have a trunk? I am not familiar withthe design of the clubmans. If you have a rear deck you could mount the sub there. There are many things you could do, we just need to know the design for the car a little better. Maybe some pics would help..
