wich is the fastest sub

any subwoofer doesnt have to move 26 cycles in order to make a 26hz tone, its just the rate it moves at to make the tone, like in a car it says you are going 50 mph, does that mean you have to go 50 miles in an hour to make the speed true? no its just the rate at which it moves inorder to make the tone.
if a sub actually had to play 26 cycles a second you wouldnt here anything but 1 sound every second out of a sub.

Huh?

what about the dopplar effect on a subwoofer dropped off a cliff? or in a ferrari going 200 mph?

the fact that they are "moving" faster doesn't necessarily mean too much with regards to the frequency when you are bringing both directions this thread has gone in together. It really depends on how fast you're moving, and in which direction relative to the sub. I suppose it also depends on the humidity among other things.

Only if its double flatulating though right?

Was this reply really necessary? A 26hz tone takes the cone moving 26 cycles per second to acheive, period. No, it does not need to do this for a full second to make the noise, but imo that point was already obvious (just like your mph example). Im quite confident azbass already knew this.
The cone still must maintain that velocity in order to reproduce that note, whatever the duration. We should be able to define a frequency as 'cycles per second' without someone jumping in and stating it doesn't have to occur for a full second.
