How can i argue with you. You need to focus on your bigger argument with the entire discipline of economics and prove their crazy theories about supply and demand wrong.
the border is a bigger argument than just economics also. national security enters the conversation. what about the economic problems that may arise with a new health care plan and 20 million newly insured mexicans. as it stands now, we probably pay for a huge chunk with cost offsetting through insurance. how are we figuring savings or cost there with a public option? and if we don't close the border and get a handle on immigration, should we just go ahead and figure a few million more in there who will come over for that reason? all of these issues are connected and an "emergency", they have to be done now. it's unsustainable. just as the TARP we still haven't used was.

ya it's probably impossible to sell.
People would rather go on giving away free the most expensive health care option in the world to a migrant worker, than provide him access to a cheaper option instead.
how much does it cost now? what are they saying cost will be?

i dont know if any of the plans would pay for illegals. I just argued it might save money in the long run if it did.

Whose system are those people trapped in? The democrats welfare state. I know quite a few people who would be offended by how you use the statist racial mindset in describing race.
there is no American welfare state.

TANF.. read up on it son.

the argument has been shrunk to short term complaints instead of long term fixes. most likely having something to do with billions of dollars going to thousands of different orginizations who are juiced into politics. civil rights groups are no exception. noone's interested in fixing the problem. imo, it has a direct correlation with the entitlement mentality. looking at actual fixes to things might take some critical thinking about your own bred in ideals. very similar to trying to argue with a mormon about the existence of god. you'll never hammer it through.

And you boiling the entire discussion down to CNN was merely stating the 'obvious' again shows your bias blinds you to my points.
My point had nothing to do with whether or not he will win, and had everything to do with the media's double standard of when personal relationship should and should not affect our view of a politician. We wouldn't have to keep going over and over this point if you would stop dodging it. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif
none of it matters because that wasnt the salient factors in determining the plausibility of his candidacy.

I doubt it. You are making a joke at Pentagon spending when you don't know the first thing about service contracts.
it was obviously a poor attemp at humor. independence day, which i realize makes no sense, since pentagon spending was what they were talking about in the movie also. meh.

I'm sorry that I didnt have a more animate reaction to your world view shattering news that statistics could be manipulated. From now on i wont assume a basic understanding of correlation/causation and try to keep in mind that statistics can be manipulated.
Animated reply? Now you are just changing the subject. You cited statistics as some sort of proof, and when presented with the notion that those stats could mean almost anything, your reply was that it was 'data'. Again we appear to have hit the ceiling of your understanding of this discussion. That's okay, not flaming you, just saying you dont have to turn this into an argument of symantics just to avoid admittance of a lack of understanding.

So we are down to you giving vague answers that may, to the laymen reading this, appear as though you are actually addressing the issue? By all means, explain how the media hype of his 'personal' relationship does not affect the plausibility of his candidacy. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
Your replies have really gone down hill in the past hour or two. Have you started drinking?

I have done some work for the government. Yes, they really do spend stupidly large amounts of money on simple items. At least in the military. Aparently they think someone's life may depend on the extensive FEA studies done on that toilet seat, and the subsequent multi-thousand page reference book that describes the specifications for said seat. One job I did was a simple drawing of a fighter control stick for a flight simulator. It took nearly a week to read through the specs, rules and regulations... and then less than 10 minutes to actually draw the part, the creation of which was not altered by the reference manual one bit. But of course, I had to charge them for the research time as well. Silly.
