Yes, they really do spend stupidly large amounts of money on simple items. At least in the military. Aparently they think someone's life may depend on the extensive FEA studies done on that toilet seat, and the subsequent multi-thousand page reference book that describes the specifications for said seat. One job I did was a simple drawing of a fighter control stick for a flight simulator. It took nearly a week to read through the specs, rules and regulations... and then less than 10 minutes to actually draw the part, the creation of which was not altered by the reference manual one bit. But of course, I had to charge them for the research time as well. Silly.</p></blockquote><p></p>
